Hi,
Do you think it would be ok having my sound card close to the graphics card like that ? as there is know where else it can go. ?
surley the onboard Asus P6T Deluxe sound card couldn't be better then the one i have >
Sound Blaster X-Fi Fatal1ty XtremeGamer Pro ?

Cheers :)

That looks like a very bad idea. If the gfx card somehow isn't overheating, I bet the soundcard is.

Consequence of having a pci soundcard these days. Either sell the card, or monitor the gpu temperature and wait to see if the soundcard dies or not. It should survive for a while at least.

I hope you have lots and lots of airflow :)

I'd say that as long as the soundcard isn't blocking any vents on the graphics card then it should be ok. But as advised, keep an eye on the temps.

Its not covering the intake fan of the card, and I can't imagine it having issues with the heat of the Graphics card since its not in contact with the heatsink etc.

Unless your getting reliability problems I wouldn't worry about it.
As said above just make you've got good airflow in the case, and if your really paranoid get one of those PCI card fans like this;

A couple of years back I had a Radeon 9800 Pro with an Arctic cooler on it that took up a few of the PCI slots on my old motherboard. The sound card I had was directly underneath it in one of the free PCI slots and there was never any problems, although that old Radeon probably wouldn't generate as much heat as your GTX there I'd say just leave it underneath the graphics card.

I would add one of these just for extra cooling, but there are no more pci slots left to add that cooler.
This is the case i have http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-116-LL&tool=3

cheers.

cant u rin the GFX card in the white slot(2nd)? then replace your sound card with a asus xonar d2x much better sound:D in teh mini pci-e slot so they are smile apart:D

No need to replace the sound card, does a great job.

Shall i add these 2 fan at the bottom blowing on the sound card and GFX card ? there will be no hole in the case of course ?

I have 3 x 120mm fans at the front, 1 x 120mm exhaust at the rear.
1 x 120mm exhaust at the top.

Oh balls, it won't work having it in the 2nd slot, as it gets in the way of the onboard connections i'll be using.
so would having them 2 fans at the bottom be any good ?

I would have thought the white pci-e slot would only be x8 anyway while the blue will be pci-e x16 no? if it is then the white slot will seriously choke the bandwidth

EDIT: Not sure which the secondary slot is as they appear to be different on the Deluxe rev. 1 and rev. 2.

Re: the fans, could give 'em a try, although I'm not sure the airflow would be very good. Be a man and break out the dremel! Cut some holes!! :D
