To GG, or not to GG??

I've always used "gg" after team matches, win or lose (well, it depends how badly we lost -- if we knew we could have beaten our opponents but didn't for what ever reason, we wouldn't bother). I've also sometimes jumped the gun while leading by a considerable margin and said "gg" with about 5 seconds of a match left.

On public servers, if some guy killed me and said "gg" in a really cocky way or something, I would say it back in a kind of "that's right, mate, you're not better than me" way after I get him back.

as lag always messes you up on that game....

I swear if I hear another "online SFIV play is crap"-type comment or see another "See I can do combos and pull off moves properly in SFIV if it werent for lag"-type videos from you or Kreeeee, I think Im gonna puke

But OT... for example I played e36 the other day and I genuinely said to him "Im not going to say gg to you cause you had better days."
Nothing offensive meant by it, was just the honest truth.

If i have enjoyed the game then I will give a GG.

Most of the time if I have had a good session on L4D or something then I will post a GG before logging out.

Depends a lot on culture I think.

For US players, saying GG seems to be expected. If you don't say it, people often think you are being rude, at least that's my experience.

Generally speaking I never say GG unless I think it was genuinely a great, close fought game, or use it ironically following a 300-0 blowout, or during the game after a complete ****-up on the part of myself or a teammate (e.g. quadbore)
