To PS4 or not...

If you have a decent PC then I don't think there's any point in getting one. The vast majority of games will be available for PC anyway.
Although it also depends if you've got a lot of friends with a PS4 and like playing online.

I'm totally happy with my PS4 and once all the decent games start coming out towards the end of next month I'll be a happy gamer again(the summer games drought had me getting bored).

Hmmmm...

I guess, possible that the prices might drop after Christmas... Who knows.

Hmmmm, I could certainly do with replacing some parts in my PC. Namely getting a 500GB SSD for my games, I'm also noticing stuttering so some component might be failing... But with 8GB ram and a 780 GTX, 4Ghz i5... It's a fairly beefy rig as it is.

Bugger. This is a hard choice.

8G of ram?

I've had 32G of ram in mine for the past 2 years! Keep up :p

Get one, if you want a cheaper one keep checking hotukdeals until a good one comes up then snap it up.

edit. They had one going for £290 odd the other day.

For gaming, RAM isn't going to bottleneck if you have 4gb - 8gb, anything more is useless.

PC Gamer here, I dabbled with the previous consoles but it didn't grab me as much as PC. You're never going to get the crisp lines that a PC can produce BUT, one of the main factors to consider here is the PS4 exclusive or console only games. Eg, Driveclub which is shaping up to be a good game by the looks of things.

PC spoilt me in the previous generation but the new ones are still pretty good. I've got both and games like The Last of Us Remastered and Ryse Son of Rome look stunning (I should point out Ryse is actually coming to PC soon) but I hope the games will get better and better when the devs get used to the hardware.

Should you get a PS4?... Why not, I'm glad I got one. Besides, if you really don't like it you could just trade it back in at Game but lose a bit of money for the privilege of trying it out.

Another thing, if you think down the line, eventually you will have one anyway and can afford it now. Just buy it. It's not like there will be an updated one out with a faster spec in 12 months. These things have almost a decade of life cycle so the sooner you buy it, the better value they are really.

That is a devilishly good way of looking at it...

Another reason to buy both, or all 3.

Who says you have to "suffer" with just 1 console? It's not a marriage ! lol

I just bought a PS4, will have a XB1 hopefully not too long. 2 home appliances in 10 years?

Geez, people change cars FAR more often than that.

I've been considering a PS4 or Xbox One myself particularly with FIFA 15 round the corner, can't see the point in paying £40 for it on the 360 when they'll probably have some bundles on sale in the next couple of weeks.

I love gaming on my PC but that is hidden away upstairs with smaller screen and no comfy sofa. Maybe I should just build a lounge gaming box instead...

I'm a PC Gamer first and foremost but with the GF starting Uni soon, the PC / desk is going to be used by her while she is studying so I had to choose between the Xbox One and the PS4.

Now, I did have a PS4 for a while but missed PC gaming so sold it and bought a new rig a while ago :D

But as I mentioned earlier, I knew that I wouldn't be able to play on it as often as I'd like so I decided I needed a console for the bedroom.

I ended up picking the Xbox One purely down to the games. The majority of my friends have a PS4 but I rarely play MP on consoles so I couldn't care less. With Halo, Crackdown, Scalebound and all the other great exclusives (plus the bargain that is EA Access), the Xbox is perfect for me.

Don't listen to people who talk about the power of the PS4 etc, as I can tell you that the difference is tiny! The Xbox has a better UI and the Kinect is awesome.

BUT it's your choice... but there is only 1 right choice ;) :p

I would say the difference isn't that tiny if so many MP titles are running at 1080p compared to 720p/900p. Some people say they can't notice but I certainly would and can. I'm not starting a war here, I'm not at school any more and have no allegiance to any brand so not interested in arguing over consoles but facts are facts.

Raymond wins the thread.

You'll end up buying one, sadly true gamers end up with all consoles under their tv in the end. I always do, gamers have their preferred goto platform. But as always there is always one or more killer title that is a must play.. horrible feeling knowing someone is playing a game you wish you could play but don't have the machine to play it..

In the end, even if you just play the exclusive games on either x1 or ps4 you'll have got your money worth out of it.... Like said, games console don't change in spec, it's how long you wait it out for prices to drop more then anything...

Paying £300+ to play a couple of exclusives IMO is madness.

I also don't have the space for more than one console in the AV unit.

Also the other console usually has an equivalent game. Take Forza for example the PS4 equivalent is driveclub.

There is no need to have more than one console unless you want to
