Im about to format and re install windows, as it needs doing and i want a fresh windows install for my 4400 x2

Currently im running 2 x 120gb s-ata seagate drives in raid 0. Now im wondering, shall i keep the raid array, or ditch it and run windows off one drive and my games off the other.

To be honest it's six of one and half a dozen of the other. I would say break the raid as you have a risk of loosing the lot if one drive goes. And the performance boost is minimal.

I had raid stripped and it was ok but not amazing. I now have seperate drives for the reason that if one dies I dont lose everything.

Or dont store "everything" on the Raid array.

Cat6 cable to the router in the loft and another PC on 24/7 full of hard drives.
That's the way I've just built mine.

Keeps this one in the Games room nice and tidy.

(2 x 36GB Raptors in RAID0 on a 128K stripe. :D )
