Toasteh does StrongLifts

I'd say doing deadlifts at less than 60kg is pretty useless. The plates are too small meaning that the bar must be too far down, unless you're doing rack pulls?

Centurion speaks wisdom. Pick up søme heavier stuff. :)

The problem with 'form' is that - unless you are an ulta-elite athlete - it chanes as the weight goes up. So guess where the best place to practice may be? :)

the 5kg plates at my gym are the same diameter as the heavier plates, so I don't see that that would be an issue. also, stronglifts says to start at 30 so that's what I did.

The 15's at my gym are actually marginally bigger than the 20's which really boils my pee when I'm trying to load and unload the bar for deads.

As long as the bar height is roughly the same as with a fullsize 20KG plate it shouldn't be an issue.

What is an issue is when you see someone with 10cm 2.5KG plates trying to deadlift from the floor.

Tonight:

Squat 32.5kg 5/5/5/5/5
Ohp 25kg 5/5/5/4/4 looks like I'll be repeating that one
Deads 35kg 5

Everything was gravy except the ohp. Got some nasty cramp in my toes at the end of some of the squat sets and the dl, not ideal!

missed friday's session cos i had a course in london, back at it today though.

squat 35kg 5x5
bench 27.5kg 5x5
pendlay row 27.5kg 5x5

finally sorted form on the row, so that was good. squats felt really nice too, bench was fine.

more lifty things tonight

squat 40kg 5x5
bench 30kg 5x5
row 30kg 5x5

pretty cool to think i've doubled my squat weight in a month, if i keep up the same rate i'll be lifting 80 come the end of july :D everything else was pretty standard, so that shuld progress nicely too :D

i'll have to double-check with my lawyer, but i believe my usage of the word 'if' means that should the aforementioned progress not be made then reparations can be made with the appropriate use of boob .gifs

today i managed to be a complete nob when loading the bar for my squats so I did my working set at the same weight as last time. only realised at the end so did one set of the correct weight, will repeat properly next time

squat

bar 1x10
30 1x5
42.5 5x5
45 1x5

bench

bar 1x10
32.5 5x5

row

32.5 5x5

rows were tough, will see if 35 actually happens next time...

today:

squat

bar 1x10
45 5x5

slightly regretted not doing more warmup sets, toe cramped towards the end of the last set but still got the lifts done.

ohp

bar 1x10
30 4/4/5/4/3

these just didnt really happen tonight, will try again next time

deadlift

30 1x5
50 1x5

these seemed fine, not as bad as i thought they'd be

sunday

squat

bar 1x10
30 1x5
40 1x5
47.5 5x5

these were tough, leg still sore from friday. apparently I go too low when I squat so will see if stopping higher next time makes things easier.

bench

bar 1x10
35 5x5

these felt pretty good

row

35 5x5

these were tough

tonight

squat

bar 1x10
30 1x5
40 1x5
50 5x5

right hammy felt like it was made of jelly, tried to focus on not going quite so low and keeping my back super-straight, didnt feel too bad.

ohp
bar 1x10
30 5/5/5/5/3

so close! last set just didnt want to be a thing. best thing about failure here is i dont have to go heavier next time!

deads

30 1x5
40 1x5
50 5x5

managed to misread this one and only did 50 again, 55 next time then. idiot.
