I can't believe how many people don't no basic food hygiene and principles and follow instructions that will ensure a company will not get sued under any circumstance, those instructions have little to do with safety.

It's quite rare that i eat tomato sauce, but personally i always keep bbq, brown and tomato sauces in the cupboard. My missus on the other hand puts it in the fridge, it just confuses matters!

On topic - my opened tom sauce goes in the fridge - as does brown sauce, mustard, mayo and salad cream.

I tend to put tomato ketchup in the fridge at the moment but that's partly because it's more convenient than trying to put it in the cupboard since there's usually more space in the fridge. However like you it doesn't bother me much either way.
