Tomb Raider - Rise of the Raider PC

Judging by the screenshots and online video's this does look great! Going to finish completing the previous one until I buy this hopefully by then Ill save a couple of quid too.

Enjoy everyone :D

Well my early impressions are more of the same of TR 2013 but with much better graphics. Same play style and same upgrading style. If you liked TR 2013, you will certainly like this.

As Gregster said, it's very similar in game-play to TR2013, which is no bad thing as that was pretty spot on in its mechanics but it does seem more like they refined things rather then innovate (although I'm only a few hours in so we will see!)

The game looks very good over-all but some of the character details and facial animation is bloody brilliant.

Playing at 1440p - SMAA + Anisotropic Filter x2, other stuff set to very high bar pure hair and softer shadows set to 'ON', may turn them up next log in though! lowest dip I've seen is 49fps, normally settles between 70 and 90.

All in all I'm enjoying it and looking forward to playing some more this weekend.

Season pass is £16 on greenmangaming with 20% code - 20PERC-WTHGMG-201627

Wasn't going to buy it, but for £16 it's not a bad price. I bought the game for £26 so I'm happy with the total price.

66% usage on each of my 980Tis and 40fps in game with mainly very high and 3440x... come on...

The SLI scaling on this game so far is crap, 2x 980 Ti's and it's hard to maintain 60fps at 3325x1871, even at 2560x1440. All settings maxed out (SMAA) and GPU usage on both cards vary around 60% on both to 80% on both but the frame rate may be around 45fps to 60fps.

This is with the latest 361.75 driver. This game needs a new SLI profile, a patch or both because something is not right.

For example at I could overlook that city at the beginning and be at 60fps both cards around 70% usage and it's silky smooth, then I head into the the first tomb where you read that Greek stone and the frame rate is around 45fps, even though the GPU usage on both cards is around 65% usage and CPU usage barley being used. There is bugger all graphics wise on some scenes to push a single 980 Ti yet two struggle to get to 60fps.

Thoroughly enjoying the game though, it looks stunning and the real-time cut scenes of Lara close up look amazing.

Thanks pal. I was worried about my system for a second.

Should I drop to a single card?

Playing at 4k... this game looks ridiculous! Hopefully amd drop that driver asap so I can stop forcing xfire hahaha. Works surprisingly well though! Just flickers here and there.

(confirmation) OK heads up AMD users... force the old Tomb Raider profile! It's working pretty great, only a little flicker here and there but I'm at 4k locked at 60fps!!!! WOOOOO!

Make sure you are in Exclusive Fullscreen or else xfire doesn't work obviously :D

Initial thoughts...

One of the best looking PC games I've ever seen. Not messed about much with graphical settings, but FPS was very good.

Sadly, they've refused to include the option to turn off the shaky camera again, so it might be going in for a refund if I can't get used to it.

Even at Medium/High settings and this game looks stunning!, These screenshots where taken using an R9 280X averaging 60FPS.
