Tomb Raider - Rise of the Raider PC

Yeah I am trying to hold of playing it till a patch is out too, when the FPS drops and stutter occurs, it just isn't any fun :(

It's pretty much got it's act together for me, The first time at the Soviet installation was bad but since the geo map it's been behaving well even when I go back to that map, I just spend a couple of seamless hours there. Odd but I'm happy @ 17 hours in and about 57%.

Will try to play past that part and see how it goes then.
 
First thing I did.

I'm on my 4th crash now :D Wonder if it can beat the amount of times batman arkham knight crashed for me..... :p

On a separate note, FPS issues does seem to be a problem with soviet installation open area, other areas, the FPS are 50+ for the most part.

Finished the game at 62%, at 78% now that I have gone back and to the first area and collected all the items and the odd tomb. First 4 areas are now 100% complete. 23hrs in and not a single crash of glitch so far on my end.

It's the most stable game I have played in a long time.
 
Yep, not a single crash here either with Titan X SLI

Again, either its the AMD driver or an existing instability on your PC somewhere. This seems to absolutely Cain GPUs and temps are generally higher than a lot of other games.
 
Touch wood, no crash. Although I often have problems viewing the map for the area I'm currently in and need to move the mouse around/over it to reveal it.

Could be but like I said to gregster in the other thread, I haven't had any crashes (this type of crash is the "ROTTR has stopped responding etc.") in other games.

It seems to happen after a hour or 2 of gameplay so it is most likely down to the memory leak issue with this game.

My GPU temps are fine, iirc they are about 75 degrees.
 
Patch notes:

Startup issues (Steam Only):

Fixed C++ runtime error showing up on startup preventing some users from running the game.
Provided work-around for issue where the VC++ redist would not properly get installed, stopping the game from starting at all.
Solved problem where the game would crash on startup when tools like Bins Taskbar organizer or Spacedesk are installed.

Updated options screen with among other things:

Independent mouse sensitivity control for aim and regular navigation.
Mouse and Gamepad X axis inversion
Option to disable keyboard button prompts.
Option to disable mouse smoothing (very light mouse smoothing is present otherwise)

Other fixes included in this patch:

A variety of fixes and improvements to UI including map, basecamps, and Remnant Resistance mode.
New graphics option ‘Specular Reflection Quality’ to enhance resolution and reduce aliasing of specular reflections, at some performance cost.
New graphics option to disable film-grain independently from ‘Screen Effects’.
Improved HBAO+ quality, including better occlusion for distant objects.
Improved NVIDIA SLI performance. (Steam only)
Fixed SLI glitches during water/snow effects. (Steam only)
Resolution Modifier option that allows you to use a lower rendering resolution independent from window size when running in windowed mode.
Performance optimization for situations where Razer Chroma features are enabled. (Steam Only)
Improvements to Razer Chroma effects. (Steam Only)
Fixed an issue that could rarely lead to an error on machines with 16 hardware threads or more.
Fixed mouse cursor not always being hidden when using gamepad.
Fixed major stuttering in Endurance mode.
Fixes for Endurance leaderboards.
Fixed Remnant Resistance missions occasionally not starting.
Fixed rendering glitches on some objects on NVIDIA 6×0 and 7×0 hardware. Some issue do still happen and we are working with NVIDIA to resolve those in future patches or drivers.
Warning messages for users turning textures to Very High or enabling SSAA to indicate high-end hardware is required.
A variety of other smaller optimizations, bug-fixes, and tweaks.
