Sad day for Rangers fans everywhere.

We were just beginning to enjoy his Barecelona-esque style of play.

No surprises there at all. Celtic have been pretty poor this season on all accounts (although I can't exactly say anything being an Aberdeen fan :p)

lol, Tony Mowbray.

Was his magical brazilian style of play as successful for Celtic as it was for West Brom in the Premier League last year?

lol, West Brom.

FFS lets keep it civil, can you do that in Scotland?

I don't quite understand, he has the worst record for a Celtic manager seen in years, I dont think 'civil' has anything to do with it. It seems pretty black and white to me.

Although quite sad to see him leave, Rangers and Celtic are the only two teams that we have that can even minutely hold their own in Europe. To avoid complacency on either part, both teams need to constantly be at their strongest...

...Mowbray could not achieve this.

On about a Rangers fan posting about it, we all know how the SPL thread went.

You for real? :)

Have you never seen some of the banter between Liverpool and Man Utd fans?, some of the words and arguments that ensue?

Do you understand how football rivalry works? :D

It might come as a bit of a shock to you but football rivalry isn`t all about singing kumbaya around the campfire with hippie love ins. :D

I'd rather watch a team managed by Mowbray than one playing the 'hoofball' exemplified by the likes of Stoke. Alas, good football isn't always winning football and vice versa. Unfortunetly for Tony, Celtic were'nt doing either.

Please please please take Roy Keane from Ipswich and give us some compensation for the privilege :D

We'll have Mowbray over Keano quite happily

cheets64 does have a point although at the stage of your first post I don't know if it was necessary, if we don't drop the pointless namecalling, baiting and other assorted pettiness then we'll be allowed no threads at all on SPL football. There is a rough outline of potential rules in this thread that I thought up quickly which it looks like the Dons would be happy with. I was/am planning to start up another SPL thread for next season with those rules in place.

As for Tony Mowbray - I don't think he's a bad manager but he didn't get the results needed and he's out, Old Firm managers don't get much leeway to make mistakes.
