Tony Mowbray sacked

He did a very good job at Hibs and didn't do badly at WBA, so he's not a bad manager. Just not up to managing a big team with big expectations yet in his career.

Appears we've come the full circle, 10 years ago we had a night like last night (and a season like this) and ended up with Martin O'Neill... We all know that football works in precise 10-year cycles so I fully expect us to be treble-Champions next year.

Precise 10 year circles? I did not know this. I think what we all know however, is that next year cannot be any worse than this year was for Celtic, so that's a positive right there! As for the domestic treble, I would not dare speculate. Unlikely.

Even with a manager anywhere near the abilities of O'Neill, I think it'll take Celtic at least a few seasons to settle. I think the cause of it all has been the sheer shock of losing the goal scoring powerhouse that was Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink to hull. :)

Paul Lambert bookies favourite followed closely by Mark Hughes.

Pretty sure I read that Lambert isn't interested in the job at all of managing Celtic.
He wasn't interested when Celtic were looking for a new manager previously so I don't think he will be interested now.

Mark Hughes, come on down (up?) my son.

Rangers to drop 10 points and Lennon to win all our remaining games. :D

So McRod, how's that treble going? :o

I wouldn't be so sure. Champions League v Championship football with the possibility of a Premiership job if he does well for a couple of seasons. I imagine it would be easier to win the SPL than get promoted out of the Championship. Big profile raiser. If he had come out recently and said he definitely didn't want it then the bookies wouldn't be backing him.

He has said that he isn't interested at this moment in time.

FFS lets keep it civil, can you do that in Scotland?

Some us can. Good to see him go, the team appeared lackluster and we really need someone to fire them up before games. The only games we have seemed to take seriously have been those against Rangers although dodgy decisions in all three games have prevented us from winning.

I love the SPL. it's like the buzzing gnat around the fat cow where all the proper football is going on. For the whole pointless rivalry which no-one south of Newcastle gives a toss about - give it 5 years and smoking battered cigarettes and chowing on treble-fried haggis begins to get old and next thing there'll struggle to get 20-odd supporters wheezing their way to the terraces..

Well somebody didn't get a reach around last night.

What a glaring insight into your personal life, anyway...

Hands of Lambert, he's our only chance of championship glory next year!

How you guys coping with his accent?.

have you any idea what he is actually saying?. He used to be relatively understandable to us Glaswegians till he lost his teeth in an unfortunate tackling/penalty incident and since no one really knows what he says.

However interesting enough to read the thread and post on it. Safe to assume you give a small toss? ;)

Its watching you guys tear shreds off each other that makes it interesting.
There is no footballing interest, certainly not from me anyway.
