Too old for gaming?

You're only too old to do something when disease and or decrepitude sets in.

your never too old to do anything

im nearly 32 (in october 17th) i spend 99% of my time on the computer/gaming..

I'm thirty seven. I used to game on BF2 with two guys who were in their sixties. You are never to old to game, as long as you enjoy it.

My missus still does not understand it, and this is when I tell her that surely that paying a game with friends, discussing tactics in real time and using one's brain is surely more engaging and beneficial than staring at a TV watching crap soap opera's, which she does every evening.

Some people say its a waste of time to play games etc and all they do is watch TV all day.

IMO you should do what you like most and not what people say you should do.

I'll only be too old to game when I'm 6 feet under. Until then, I will game as much as my free time (and wife!) allows me to :D

Pretty much it :)

Some of the most dedicated gamers I know are in their 60's and over!

Compared to them I suspect most of us on here are barely out of nappies.

No compared to most of us on here, these guys are nearly dead. Playing is a luxury of the young across all species and even the human species traditionally.

No you are not too old for gaming. Some people play games, some people watch 4-6 hours of TV every night. Switching channel to channel moaning that there is nothing on but never switching it off. However active a person is, we all need some kind of coach potato activity. Good choice.

40th birthday this year, still play games and getting a Ps4 for my 40th so nope, never too old in my book. I'll be 6 foot under before I quit, annoying gf and all that attempts at least once a week to get me to stop.. lol

No one is ever too old for anything.

But we're all human, we always want others to be like ourselves on some level.

She's your Mum, different generations often are confused and pour scorn on proceeding ones for the interest that seem alien and different. Also, it sounds like she didn't give you too hard a time.

How many of our parents sit glued to the coronation street or equivilent shows day after day and how man of us are completely uninterested in sharing this experience.

Now you understand how most people view our love for gaming.

The best thing in this situation is to ask your mum "why".

Watch her squirm trying to think of a reason why you're too old to enjoy games.

An older friend of mine tried to talk smack to me once about how much time I spend on my PC until I pointed out that regardless of what I do on my PC, it's infinitely more engaging that vegging out in front of the TV from the time you get home from work until you go to bed.

It was never brought up again. :p
