Just took delivery of a gaming pc for my son. When opening it and removing packaging it was soaked with condensation inside. Is this normal? I mean I’m certainly not switching it on put it that way.

As in the inside of the case/components is soaked or just the outside packaging?

Bringing cold metal objects inside, you'll get condensation, especially if you've got a lot of humidity in your house.

Best to leave metal goods (especially electronics) in the box for a few hours to slowly warm up.

The inside/components. I thought the cooler had leaked at first but it’s fine.

It has been in the house for a good few hours. When I said just took delivery I didn’t mean instantly. It’s been sitting there since this morning until I’ve got in.

I will leave it for 24 hours, hopefully it’s all fine.

It's metal and it's cold in the back of a van and warm in your house so yes I'd expect some as it warmed up.
Yes a small amount of course but this is a lot more. I just hope it hasn’t damaged anything.

I would, if you havent done already take some photos clearly showing the condensation before it drys. That way if you do run into issues when you turn on the computer for the first time you will have evidence to show the retailer.
I always take a video showing the unboxing just incase. I phoned the retailer who told me to leave it to dry for 24 hours. It has cleared up a great deal from what it was already. The only other thing that concerns me is the rgb screen on the z790 Hero when touched slightly sounds like it’s sticking and coming away (hard to describe) at first I thought the plastic hadn’t been removed but it definitely has. I won’t know until tomorrow, or might leave it longer just to be safe.

It won’t damage anything. Just let it dry off.

I had the same today with a small PC. Opened it up and it was literally wet. I wiped down most of it and then let it dry off in-front of a heater for a bit.

I was shocked when I first looked at it. I thought straight away “it’s going to be f….”. It’s completely dried out now and hopefully all is well. Thanks.

I normally leave all tech at least 24 hours before I consider turning it on just to 'equalise' with the house.... especially in winter when we're seeing really cold temps.

In the case of the OP, I'd have likely taken some kitchen roll to it and dabbed the obvious moisture to remove the obvious wet bits.

I did this to the places I could get to. I removed all panels and did the same and left them off. The retailer did say it was quite common. I’d never experienced it before, so panicked. I’m sort of dreading the big switch on tomorrow :D

I'd definitely make sure it is dried out thoroughly, ideally not just left to naturally dry, or you might get corrosion issues down the line.

This is what I was concerned about, not just the fact that it might be damaged, but also it might cause damage in the future. This is where logging it, and taking every step that has been advised by the retailer, on top of video evidence if anything were to happen down the line, as it’s under warranty for three years.

When removing the back panel a screw fell out. It was from the bottom fan (Lian Li xl) so I had to screw that back in. All in all, not a great start but never mind.

It came via pallet delivery and they wrap it all in plastic also, so I’ve been told this wouldn’t have helped.

It's my understanding that this is beneficial to keep it on until the temp on the metal parts equals the room temp. Any moisture in the air lands on the wrap and not on the inside. Just give it a good airing as others have said plus a good wipe. I don't know if static charges may increase as your house might be more humid now than in the summer, but always something to be mindful of anyway.
