Tools!

+howevermany for Halfords stuff, I've abused my 100 (or 150, can't remember) piece Halfords Pro tool kit over the years and it's still pretty much good as new.

My Snap-On set is redundant after over 20 years of excellent service due to me buying the largest Halfords set, very well made and excellent guarantee.

Halfords again for me, excellent stuff and the ratchets are easily serviceable.

Definitely wait for sale time. Or borrow a trade card...... I got my 200 piece kit for £125 on the trade card ;)

Search the bay of e. As a rule the Halfords stuff lasts a long, long time so why not consider preowned?

Savings were negligible to nonexistent compared with the price of new sets when I was looking to buy, the tools are very well priced and due to their excellent quality hold their value well.

I'm sure it's in their T&Cs that if you take something back to get it replaced they can ask for proof of purchase so you'd be losing out on the lifetime warranty if they decide to be difficult.

Never have with me, they just go and get me the new item. Even when years ago I took a 13mm socket back that had split. When I got home I found the Halfords Pro one was in my old Draper socket set and they had swapped the knackered Draper socket for a shiny new Halfords pro one.:o

I have always purchased the individual tools I needed instead of a set so that there are none that never get used.

I've had the same experience like I said it's just one of those things they could suddenly try to enforce at which point you lose the biggest plus point of the Halfords kit.

I've been stung before with that sadly...

Despite the tools being stamped with their branding etc they wouldn't swap without a receipt.

Ok, went for the Industrial chest and mid box, modular socket sets and a set of ratchet spanners and few few odds and sods.

Appears everything tool wise is now stamped advanced unless i've missed something...

The first tools I bought were a Halfords 100pc socket set and lifting kit, the ratchet did break and despite not being covered by the warranty they replaced it with no issue.

Other stuff now I tend to get off eBay, Sealey, Draper or Britool stuff seems to be of decent quality. If I need something immediately there is a small toolshop in my town that does mostly Silverline which is fine. Really the only bad tools I've used are ones from the Poundshop :D

My ratchet snapped too, yet to take it back and try for a new one.

Right PITA as I was working on the car at the time, with no nearby halfords.
