Quick question guys how long does toothpaste last when being used as a thermal compound? Just had to use it on my Ivy i5 after I took the stock heat sink off and forget to buy any paste.

I have ordered some now but would like to know if it will last me a few days?

I was planning on replacing it every 6 hours. Would I better off with no thermal material at all though then?

Its looking ok...
Im replacing it every 3 hours now and a few interesting results point that as long as it doesnt turn to powder it works ok.

Albiet smelling like minty fresh :p

theres gotta be a computer shop close by?

if not a gun shop?

Where I live there really arent any. A few ones for business but no shops. Theres a gun shop but what would that do...

Also since its sunday tomorrow any shops will be closed.

pea method. I havent checked temps but the cooler isnt running any louder than normal and its usually around 30% speed so...

Also I removed it because there was something attached to the case which i thought was hitting the backplate but it turned out it wasnt after I removed it -.-

I know a lot of people are asking for benchmarks but no way will be testing this with the chance my processor could go! :p

I basically took the HSF off and then went "DOH" as I realised the only paste I have is toothpaste. We don't have any copper grease i think but I can ask ;)

Also Hono no I've been removing it the proper way. Toothbrush and fluorine :D

Just recieved the new paste sent by Stulid :)

Whats the best way to remove the toothpaste thoroughly?
I heard alcohol and a microfiber cloth is good, but what sort of alcohol.

Ok well nearest Chemist is over 15 miles away and I dont have a car lol. And to my knowledge we have no Vodka in the house :D
