top 100 games of all time (IGN)

guess mainly console players of course

stuff like hl being beaten by max payne 2 for example ?

i mean how hl won game of the year and shifted billions of copies where as mp2 did nothing of the sort.

theres loads of wrong uns
 
After looking through it properly, it doesn't really seem to be that good a list in my opinion, though it's a very console dominant list. Don't see how Half-Life is so low and Half-Life 2 gets so high up. Some good games that deserve a top title, but some of the Sporty games in that list didn't sound like they'd be up to the same level as some of the RPG and action games there.

I must remember to not listen to my friends when it comes to oppions of games then :P

Seriously though, I am surprised so many damn sports games... Also I didnt see Chrono Cross on the list either... I certainly dont agree with at least 50 - 60 percent of the games there...
 
The list could be a lot worse, and I mean a lot worse, Zelda oot, Zelda lttp, goldeneye and RE4 are all truly classic games.


And there is no GTA or madden in the top 10


While I don’t agree with the list, I still don’t think the top50 is that bad.
 
Top 50 looked fairly good to me, defiantly lacking on the PC side (no warcraft/starcraft, total war, civ, C&C, quake, doom, unreal, battlefield, diablo etc.) and I'm not sure how two Ratchet and Clank games made it in there (never heard anything exceptionally good about them) but apart from that. Outside the top 50 the list falls apart imo, heaps of rehash type sports stuff along seemingly every game nintendo ever made/published.
 
All I was looking for was Ocarina of Time to be at number 1 which it is, so the list is fine by me. (Tho I will say it is madness to have SC: Chaos Theory above Mario 64)

There are some choices I wouldn't disagree with; OoT, Super Metroid and FF3/6 should be near the top. As a top 100 though some of them are pretty dire, I thought having MGS2 and MGS2:S right next to each other almost was pointless.

RE4's a fun game, but no way it is the 3rd best game ever.

That was bugging the heck out of me too, I don't see the point in that at all... they are the same game but just one had a bit of extra stuff...

Still, there wasnt anything *THAT* bad in the list, I just disagree with most of the games there ;)

I noticed that too, really pointless. Not to mention MGS 2 probably shouldn't be in a top 100 list at all. I love the series and really enjoyed the game but considering some of the games that missed out it's an strange addition.

I prefer MGS3 to MGS2 and I've not seen past half the intro (and I've even completed MGS2). Really didn't like it that much.


On another note, that list is utter tosh.
