Top Gear Is Back!!

Everyone should note that the filming of this series was curtailled because of Richards Hammond's accident. This is probabaly the reason why it's different from before and why this series has only six episodes.

Do you know why he only did 1 season of TG?.

No big story afiak. He was replaced with another presenter I presume because they thought James May was better. James is from top gear mag and this bloke wasnt? I guess I agree with that decision anyway, the car auction show isnt that great to watch

I can barely remember the first series of the 'new' Top Gear, but I do recall that fat bloke... Glad they binned him.

Sunday's episode was a bit naff to be honest. Clarkson ruined the first feature. Kristen Scott Thomas was a major yawn, even by 'Star in Car' standards, and the Top Gear Challenge was even worse. Why every week now? And why so painfully and obviously scripted?

Loved the mentalist Lambo though! 207mph down the runway

I'm enjoying the new season a lot so far but it would be nice to see a few more cars reviewed as well as the banter. Its getting a little bit too much like that science thing Hamster presents on Sky one. Saying that though i tune in every week and never miss and episode.

Totally agree, infact couldnt agree more!

I think this series was always going to be an odd one, because of the filming schedule being messed up slightly by a minor incident. They probably had loads of car reviews to use, but they're now miles out of date..

Hope so, the show still makes me laugh every now and again but if it's the same recipe next season then I don't know if it'll continue to be one of the 'untouchables' when I sit down in front of the TV

Laughed my head off, especially the first half of the program. Constantly droning on about Kristin started to bug me after a while tho, although they came out with some corkers I thought it was a bit awkward at times.

stig - perfectly good idea using a standard driver for track tests but what is this now ? TV for bloody 6 year olds

But does anyone actually know who the Stig actually is? Am sure i've read somewhere that there's been three or four "stigs" ?

Also have to admit the level crossing was spectacular (without Jezza trying to ruin it) Certainly give food for though = dont even think about trying to beat the train :D

Anyone else notice the big Continuity muff on the 'Star in the Reasonably Priced Car' bit!?!?!....

All the way up to the 'Hammer Head' you can see the Mud and bits of foliage hanging off the car showing us that KST had gone off in Practice... Then After the 'Hammer Head' through the 'Follow Through' to the end the car was clean with no Grass hanging off the front!?! Hmmmmmmmm :D

It's always been rubbish like that, when they had the Liana the registration often changed from corner to corner..

Yes Ben Collins ( maybe other's are used occasionally )

I still dont get why clarkson goes on about that Kristin Scott Thomas anyway as who the hell is she?? I have had a look on IMDB and shes only done a couple of what i would call good films

Also what about real cars (ie 20k-50k band) also nothing about the new mondeo etc.

It was good last season but this time there are too many people in the audience, when in the stuido there seems more of echo which erritates me. Also its a little too set up now ie who was a chainsaw just sitting there, hamster chewing a car pic fair enough but a chainsaw
