Top Gear Performance Car of the Year is...

I like corvette's, looking back at all the models, they have always looked good and performed well, in a straight line and since i'm not a driving god i'm pretty sure they would have been fine for me in the corners too

Love them. The only thing nobody ever seems to do with them though, is put decent wheels on! They're mostly tacky looking chrome. :(

Yea! It's weird but it's part of the 'bling' thing over there, appealing to the mass market etc. The standard polished or gunmetal options are much, much sleeker looking :)

I feel compelled to put this video up again too:

If not just for the burnout at the end :D

Rear end profile looks like a pickup truck with that window :( Also, it looks like there's a solar panel in the bonnet :p

Don't like it at all tbh but it does look nice from the front.

Stunning car and the one american car I would love to own.

But that stupid OVERCLOCKERS 1337 window in the bonnet and those wheels have to go. Then put on some graphite coloured wheels in a similar style and we have WIN WIN WIN

JRS in getting his knickers in a twist shocker.

I'm not even close to being in the mood for the usual OcUK Motors Forum Bull****™ tonight, so forgive me if I don't give any other response beyond this - bugger off.

He has a point. Every time someone mentions the rubbish quality of American cars (and let's face it, they are generally pretty crap) you appear to get your knickers in a twist. God knows why.

Here here, And I've sat in just about every yank car imaginable. The cheap ones have nasty plastics and crappy build quality, and the expensive ones have fake wood, and over plastic luxury. Interiors of American cars suck they seem to have the wrong ideas about luxury/sporty. If you've ever sat in an Escalade you'll know what I mean.

Trip to the pub not go so well then?

Actually, I had a lovely time. Which is exactly why I'm not in the mood for snarky comments like the one you posted.

I dont understand why, if you love the Corvette so dearly, you dont buy one yourself.

Several reasons.

1) Got nowhere to store one.
2) Trying to fund an anti-tinworm battle on the Olds.
3) Couldn't really afford a C6 even if I wasn't engaging in that anti-tinworm battle, and don't fancy an earlier example unless a lottery win allows for a '60s one.

Good enough for you? :)

Dry your eyes m8

Oh, do sod off.

I just happen to think while there are a lot of American cars to knock (since they do build some utter dross), the Corvette isn't one of them.

I think it's quite clever. The Americans love to mod their cars with big superchargers sticking out through a hole in their bonnet, and now they can just unbolt the silly window rather than cut their bonnet.

(Also, complaining about silly windows on an Overclocking forum amuses me ;) )
lol great comeback :D

Good points on both accounts!

As to the wheels, I really like them :p

Very, very nice motor. I'd take one over the equivalent 911 every time.

Which is your opinion. Other people have differing opinions and as such can and will disagree with you. You appear to take this to heart though, and respond in a manner which suggests that other people aren't allowed a differing opinion.

Impressive car that. Don't like the Perspex window or the lhd but it goes and steers well from what I have read and seen. Wouldn't buy a new one but I suspect it will be good second hand value. Yanks can't make an enticing interior though but it's a sports car so that's not really a priority.
