Tonight's challenge: buy a second-hand car for under £5,000 that's fast and fun to drive but that also cuts the mustard as a family workhorse. The gang have to take their racetrack-to-school- run picks to Germany for the usual battery of offbeat tests. Meanwhile, James May tries out Porsches on the test circuit (he's generally the one who can best be relied on not to construct elaborate metaphors comparing a sports car to Scarlett Johansson). And for those who think of Top Gear as the blaring antithesis of New Labour values, there's an unlikely studio guest: Alastair Campbell.
