Top Gear Season 14

Most of that Lancia filming (in particular the Delta shoot) was done on the A4069 which is about 500 yards from where I used to live :)

Sadly I'm not shocked in the slightest by that.

No me neither. Its obvious in nearly all the races, and drag races they do as well.

While I appreciate completely the direction top gear has taken as an entertainment show, I just wish they'd either stop. As frankly, they are at serious risk of becoming a joke themselves. Clarkson and Hammond especially.

Either that or make one slightly serious show about cars, and then one about arsing about with whatever, as long as its original and not the same old jokes.

Also why does clarkson always pretend to know nothing about how anything works on cars. Which quite clearly is just not true?

im a little shocked to hear that its scripted right down to whether a car crashes or understeers or not.

But then this is the same crew that pulled the fuses on the vectras active suspension system, and traction control / esp just so they could make it look worse than it was.

Wonder if the power lap times are even real ?

In a way, I can sort of understand that. Nowadays your average top gear viewer wouldnt have a clue what understeer even is/what it looks like. So, I can sort of understand them making it extremely obvious. But if they do that for the power laptimes as well. Then that sucks a bit.

that aside

i didnt think it would be scripted as far down as them having detertmined what the car is like and that it should spin to proove a point before they even begin filming.

I see more of you have become disillusioned with Top Gear as I have.

This is what you must take it with:

Then, you may enjoy the show somewhat. Though a change back to how it used to be (as already discussed at length) would be great.

out of curiosity with ford allegedly coming first what ford cars do you consider great.
because im sure theres more than 4 (like hammond and co think)

imo:
GT
Sierra Cosworth
Rs200
Mustang
capri

Yeh, don't get me wrong I still enjoy it quite a bit, but its just really quite dissapointing, when compared to how good it was. The episodes are still pretty good. But the repetitive nature is starting to really drag now.

Chris Harris needs to hurry up and get a TV program methinks.

yes it is repetitive. But so is a pint of beer. And I enjoy both.

TG is entertainment based around cars, or even transport in general these days. Manufacturers volunteering their product on the show should have eyes wide open.

If you don't like it, don't watch.

So only 4 for me too. I suspect they'd have the model T in the list.

I have no doubts that the times are real. It's just the lap they show on TV is edited together from other laps, but that was kind of obvious anyway. The actual timed lap may not even be filmed for all we know.
