Either that or they and their safety coordinator had already driven up anddown it several times to make sire no one was going to be hurt. The BBC hate it when their presenters have accidents.

Maybe that's why Hammonds car had an "accident". They didn't want to take the risk :D

Anyone got any idea what their support team is like? the three of them, their three cars, and what, 2 camera vehicles? director / at least 2 camera men, sound guy x 2 what else?

edit Anyone notice the camera guy in shot at one point when jeremy opened his door?

Google "mongol rally" :D

Cheers, that looks like fun. Although wouldn't you want to do it with a couple of mates? ;)

Well, i don't think they're as large as Bear Grylls's team, lets put it that way.

They could have done but when they panned down you could see a costal town and there must have been a steep road up to it, still is was breathtaking.

Bigger than you think, notice the clean fresh clothes they had half way through, they probably had a 2 new jeeps, also getting some of the shots would have taken a an hour to get the camera set up.

But it was still something amazing, from 19:45 to 21:00 I was hooked and didnt even change channel or leave the room.

Edit look like this is the sort of place they did it

fantastic episode. it was genuinely funny i have to admit, which makes a great change :)
not sure if the first 15 minutes really warranted that extra 15 mins, but whatever.
lets just hope the rest of the season doesn't fall back into the rut

They did not cross the Amazon, they did either a very small section of it on purpose, or they spent a day driving around in a little bit off forest.

The rest I can mostly believe.

Also, I suddenly want a range rover classic.

Yeah. They probably had a couple of 4x4 loaded with kit and supplies etc, and obviously stuff like the roll cages that magically appeared into the vehicles, and the winches that magically bolted them selves on etc,

Also it's well known that Top gear often film their films at different times, i.e a second camera unit / some shots from the copters etc aren't all taken exactly when they are there etc.

Been wanting one for a while. Finding a good one is next impossible unless you want to spend silly money.

He should have left it stock (but bunged the roll cage in, obvs) lifting them and fitting the bigger tyres rarely does much for them. As they are so capable in the first place.

Also, He said it was an 80's model. It looked late 70's to me - anyone confirm?

Look at it this way, would you drive Hammond's car down that?

Still, i wonder what he was going to say when he got out...

Yeah that annoyed me. [It was so obviously scripted / cocking about / not funny / playing to camera/] If he'd actually asked something when it rolled down the hill it would've been better. Too contrived. [yawn. never watching again / etc etc]

or maybe it was playing to be on purpose, so he wouldn't have to do it. that's how I read into it.
