Top Gear: Series 19

I must be getting old as that series wasn't all that great for me. It was ok don't get me wrong, but rather than having it on and watching it with my undivided attention, I found myself on the laptop, or tidying up and / or doing other things.

Still, it's a fun series, but I guess I don't find the humour or the activities as interesting as I used to.

If you compare a top gear episode from over 5 or so years ago to now, you notice the actual real car content has dropped off massively, and the number of 'funny' challenges has taken over the show.

It's still a good show, I just wish they would try and get more actual car content in there, instead of sitting in a super-car and just grinning like a cheshire cat and making noises. They don't seem to show off the capabilities of the cars anymore, just get a few nice shots and make some excited sounds = feature done.

Greatest moment on Top Gear? have to say "aston an ending" ... whatever we think of TG not being as good nowadays and it's not, simple as that... this ending of the series... even my mum and dad were sitting there mesmerised... sends a shiver up my spine everytime I watch it... informative? No... over emotional? yes... moving and superb piece of filming? YES! The sound of that car is incredible...

Unfortunatley with the amount of crap on TV nowdays, TG still represents better quality than 99% of programs and reality TV ****.

I'm sure some people here think TG should still be like it was in the 70s/80s, with bearded men wearing brown corduroy trousers and beige socks, one foot up on the bumper of a car telling you something dreary about the quality of the door hinges...

must admit i've enjoyed the new series on discovery.

Really disliked when they tried to copy the entertainment thing and had the bloke with the crazy hair and VBH in the ace cafe trying to be Top Gear.
