I'm in, loved the first two.

I'm not looking for fine art, I'm looking for something visually spectacular with a great soundtrack that I can munch popcorn to and switch my brain off for awhile. Specifically something that doesn't involve superheroes, or Disney in general for that matter.

TG2 was great, the fact that there was such a gap from the first one made it all pent up demand. And they the pre-film PR for it was immense, TC was everywhere , from sliverstone to stunt flying corden in his own plane, to walking into the premiere with Kate & William. And the whole "everything you see outside the plane is real" thing, i.e. no CGI was used for the inside shots of the flying so that the background and sky seen from inside the plane was all real, just kept the hype up, and the film itself just happened to be really good, when cinema was crying out for something to be good.

No way is the above going to be recreated. Even TC, who is pretty much legendary for his action movies isn't going to be able to outgun TC2, so I think they should leave it, it might end up being a (update after editorial commentary) damn squid damp squib.

On the other hand, if the movie turns out to be a damp squib, that would be disappointing.

Thought Maverick was a bad idea, was of course very wrong. They have got the same writer and Director back, so yes I'm more than fine with this. Watching Maverick in IMAX was a cinema highlight for me.

Really don’t want them to milk it mind as Hollywood has ruined enough franchises!

TBH when I like a franchise just give me more

If they produce a dodgy one and thats the end of the franchise, never watch that movie again.

I would prefer the risk they mess up than have no chance of another good one.
Its not like them messing up somehow changes the first two.
