Torchlight II

i can log in at last however the coop is not working, it says i have a "strict NAT detected" and then fails, then actually loads only to get stuck where I then have to hard reset my computer...thinking of getting a refund.

Not heard of anything this broken with the game yet.

Just try a reinstall mate. It will most likely resolve you crash issues, and be patient for the online co-op the site is probably under mega strain at the moment because of a new release.

Add me to the ignore list all you like. It doesn't solve anything. I'm not the only one to think it's more of a D3 clone than a D2 clone either. A simple google search brings up many forums and blogs where people have said the same. I'm allowed an opinion and so are you. I won't add you to my ignore list as I prefer listening to others than simply being an ignorant ****.

So list all the things which make this a clone of D3. Please, go ahead.

Dont forget to mention looting off of bodies and urns, because we all know it wouldn't be a clone without that.

Thanks for quick reply.

So what if I pick a normal difficulty, then eventually wanna try something harder, do I have to make a new char or can I use the same one??

I think you need to create a new char, once you complete the game you unlock game+ which is a harder version of the game, but I think still the same base difficulty that you selected.

If you have played D2/D3/TL1 I would suggest starting on Veteran at least, Normal is a bit easy for an experienced player.

The best thing is to start on a higher difficulty, because it will take less time to realise it is too hard than it will to realise it is too easy, so you will waste less time for the restart.

It doesn't need explaining as plenty of others can see which features have been cloned. You've already tried using that bodies and urns thing, you're boring me now. Yes your version is superior and it plays nothing like D3.

Please outline all features which were new in D3 which weren't in D2, which TL2 has blatently copied. If you want to discuss the clone, why can't you outline everything in 1 post, and then I can outline everything which is in TL2 which wasn't in D3, and thus we will be able to verify whether it's a clone or not.

The game is even advertised as a clone. Read through the previous posts. It's not rocket science to see it clones certain aspects of D3. Google is your friend. I'm not repeating what I and others have already said.

Diablo II and III both run off Blizzard's in house, tweaked Havok engine. This is the same engine that the people at Runic created, they are bound to feel similar as they are also the exact same genre. It's a fantastic game either way and has all of the pro's from Diablo with none of the cons. Diablo has superior lore/story, that is literally it. :p

As for graphics, Torchlight copied WoW's style way before Diablo III did. ;)

Your "argument" for it being a clone is "It feels the same", in the thread you've not given anything else apart from "It feels the same". In which case, it "feels the same" as TL1, which was released before D3.

Here's my good points about both games and I'll leave it at that:

Diablo 3
-Higher Quality Gameplay
-Patches, expansions and Bug fixes for years to come
-Cinematics
-Better Lore

TL2
-High hopes for future content (mods)
-LAN
-Made by a smaller company (high quality/manpower ratio)
-Better itemization
-Reasons to reroll the same class (no respecs)
-More class customization
-Only £10-12

omfg, just stop baiting arguments.

We get it, TL2 and D3 are very similar games in some aspects, completely different in others.

Can we just drop it now and get back to talking about the actual game?

Wasn't baiting anything.

Wanted an explaination of his views, is all. Because I can't see it, personally. Doesn't matter anyway, think he's gone.

I haven't gone anywhere and I did explain my views. It shouldn't take me to go into every little detail of the similarities between the two for you to understand. UV and Omaeka seemed to understand it pretty well.

"It feels the same" and "You can loot from bodies and rocks", sums up what you've said over the past 3 pages. Can see why it's a clone.

You didn't read all my posts then so I'll just leave you to try and win an argument by only choosing to read select parts of what I've wrote. It's like you won't stop until I say TL2 is nothing like D3. Just accept the fact it's a clone, move on and talk about the game.
