Torchlight II

well you do the same thing you do on all these types of games...you farm for better gear and complete it till you reach NG ++++

Ye but this is where I think D3 dominates now. With all the new end game changes without losing item values if you find them because there is no offline mode for people to cheat their way to decent items

Was quite interested in this until someone mentioned that late game people just seem to use 1 skill. Put off now :(

I'm level 29 on my Outlander and I'm mostly just using 1 skill. I picked up a second useful skill, but it's sort of the same as the first one. Throughout the levelling process I've pretty much always had 3-5 skill points unspent, simply because there's nothing really exciting to use them on, so I keep them in reserve in case I unlock something that will change the gameplay. I've played 2 other classes to about level 10 and it seems the same on those (I freely admit level 10 isn't very far, but there didn't seem to be the usual carrot dangling in front of me to play more to unlock something).

Having said that, the game is good fun, but the skill trees seem very poorly thought-out.

I'm using a lot of skills with my embermage. Prism bolt, Blazing pillar, frost phase, thunder locus. And a few buffing spells. I dont neccesarily need to use all them, I'm playing on normal but I like to mix it up. I still have about ten unspent skill points.

Now I am running end game maps I find myself using a lot more skills.

I could probably get away with a single skill most of the time but I find my game a lot more effective if I use certain others.

I am going very crit-heavey with most of my crits around 10k damage now. I am critting about 30% of the time too.

What is getting me though is my main bow deals 227 damage and I just picked up a single pistol thats dealing a base of about 320, but it does less damage. I cant see why this is though as I am not really gaining any major advantages from my bow over my pistol.

i just deleted my lvl20 berserker as i was splashing skill points around like a drunkard at the urinal, now am i right in thinking its best to try to max out one skill tree then move onto another?

and i was using quite a few of the skills i picked up so i wouldnt say its just spamming one ability (i did only get to lvl20 though!)

There are a few skills that I dont actually use on my Outlander which I wish I had never selected now but to be honest most of the time I am now having to wait 2-3 levels at a time to get the next level upgrade for my abilites now.

I think they should introduce something that can completely wipe out one ability and give you the points back, for a fair price of course. Something like 50k gold or something?

Just wait for the mods to come out ;)

I think most people are not planning out builds very well and don't really know their classes... check out this to see some examples of the type of crazy shenanigans you can try with the Zerker. People just need to use some imagination.

You mean the game that lost like 75% of its player base..D3 is based around AH selling/buying...hardly a game

Don't even bother rising to it. He only had the decency to do a single lead up post to the trolling before he started on about D3, poor effort 2/10.

Well I am really enjoying this game at the moment. I started on Veteran difficulty as an Engineer. I think Veteran was the right choice most of the time, but there has been the odd jump in difficulty between acts and other places that has made the game very tough. I occasionally get one shot by a champion sometimes but overall I think Veteran was a good choice, I do not want the game to be too easy.

The loot seems to be pretty good as well. I am still getting the age old problem of getting class specific drops for every class but mine, seriously, I have had at least two pieces of class gear for every class but the Engineer. Overall though, it seems to be a pretty good system.

I think I am getting close to the end of the game and it will be interesting to see what is in store after that. Hopefully lots more unbridled carnage to level 100 and complete domination over every monster that crosses my path.

and people were initially complaining about Diablo 3 that there were ONLY 5-6 viable skills in inferno. this is one skill game :( Maybe scraping the old skill tree system wasnt a bad idea after all.
