Torchlight II

Gutted they've decided to release this the same week as Borderlands 2, i'd have thought it would have been fairly obvious they're going to have a similar sort of target audience, and space it at least a week or 2 from BL2.

I've played a couple of hours of TL1, i did an early mission and the person who i was supposed to meet was missing, i checked a few floors and nothing. Spent about 3h of the 5h played going through the floors over and over incase i missed him, and ended up putting my savegame on the official forum, and someone found him on the next floor (supposedly on 3rd, was mid-early on the 5th. I havent touched it since then, but what i saw of it i liked, and having read their FAQ before trying TL1 that was enough to convince me to get TL2, Borderlands & Dungeon Defenders are the only games that comes even slightly close to TL which i've played, but with co-op i know i'd enjoy it.

Now they've decided to release at the exact same time, i've got one person who'll want to do a playthrough of BL2, and another for TL2, and whichever i opt for im going to miss out on the other, and IMO its much better when your playing a game for the first time and neither knows whats ahead, rather than playing with someone who knows what to do, whats around the corner etc, it removes the challenge if your just following someone who's doing everything through experience.

So they've kinda ruined the co-op experience for me now, and now im questioning whether to even buy at release or just wait for a sale because my friends will be probably still be playing their first play-through when i'll be ready to start a new one, so might as well leave it till the new year and maybe its a few quid cheaper, maybe its not.

Cant wait for this one and Sacred 3 next year :D

I hope its not as 'streamlined' as Torchlight 1 was though. Yes Diablo 3 disappointed me too, gogo GW2, Torchlight 2, Path of Exile, BG Enhanced Edition, and hopefully Sacred 3 will be as good as the first two were.

Will the controls be similar to Diablo 3? as in point and click to move? I like it like this.

Don't enjoy camera moving guild wars 2 style.. If its like Diablo 3 then il be buying it :)
 
Just got my confirmation email about Torchlight 2(bought it direct from Perfect World) also got my Neverwinter beta key too. Looking forward to playing Neverwinter, early footage looks promising!

hah, only just finished with Borderlands 2, next week is going to be a NIGHTMARE... and ofc a whole heap of fun too, but damn them for releasing the same week.

I'll be playing BL2 afternoons, T2 evenings, and maybe more BL2 at *v.silly* AM.
