Torchlight II

Its almost like they were part of Blizzard for Diablo 1 & 2, split and formed their own development company, hired a load of the staff, and create the game they wanted it to be.
;)

I thought that was the whole appeal of the Torchlight series, the fact they they were a significant factor in what made Diablo popular, and they've stuck with that formula. I havent played any of the Diablos, about 2hr of Torchlight, and read their FAQ a few months back and that was enough to convince me i wanted in on this, i only played T1 cos i got a free giftable from a friend and knew with co-op it'd be a great game to play, wasnt really interested in the SP aspect, though im sure its fun enough.

Just wish the site would work, ive managed to register, but it went down before i could link to my steam account, although im playing with 2 others who havent even got that far so far. :(

Bought the Steam four-pack of this but only received one copy, none to gift. Anyone else had the issue or know a fix? Have sent a ticket to Steam Support for time being, obviously tried re-logging Steam & going through TL2 first-time setup

Yeah, but does that mean the game has to basically be a clone but with cartoon graphics. Because to me it just feels like I'm playing D3 cartoon style.

Can't please everyone m8, just means you will move on and play something else while many others will love playing this.

I've got the same issue, and quite a few people on the Steam forums have too.

I'm okay - it just means that my friends can't play yet :p

Hopefully we'll get a support response soon :)

Just tried this out pleased I didn't buy it. Complete diablo clone, even down to things like looting bodies and rocks and exact same key mappings. How do they get away with it?

How did Quake get away with playing similar to Doom? How did King of Fighters get away with playing similar to Street Fighter? How did Guild Wars get away with playing similar to World of Warcraft? How did Forza get away with playing similar to Gran Turismo? How did Call of Duty get away with playing similar to Medal of Honor? How did Streets of Rage get away with playing similar to Final Fight? How did...

You see where this is going? If a genre/game play style has a lot of potential you cannot call everything that comes out after the very first to define the genre a clone in that kind of way. Everything's a clone of everything at the end of the day.

I'm enjoying it so far. For the first time in months, I am not spending time worrying how much something will fetch on the bloody auction house when it drops and it's nice not to have to keep pumping gold into my weapons to stop them falling apart.

I'm confident when I hit a wall in this game, it won't be because I cannot afford to buy the best kit for my build, but it will be because I have reached my limit difficulty wise. It's D3 without the corporate money grabbing aspect...

Nah my DL is on steam :(

EDIT: Aaaargh just hit play and it gives me disc IO error :(

~Anythign to do other than restartng the DL ?

Not that anyone knows :(

You could try dragging the TL2 folder out of Steam, clicking download to start it again, exit steam, drag it back, start up Steam and see if it validates the existing files and then doesn't get the error. Worth a try.

Come off for tonight now.
Level 14 or 15 I think. Just picked up a new Shotgonne that does 115dps with some nice stats. It replaced a really nice Legendary Bow but that was getting old already. Got a nice set of armour too so getting some good bonuses.
Really enjoying what I have played so far.

You just don't get it do you. All them games you listed aren't clones of one another. They play differently, if medal of honour plays like cod I don't know which versions you were playing. Seriously hardly anything is different between TL2 and D3.

Like someone above said it's D3 without the Auction House. If that's what it's supposed to be then fine but I'm just giving my opinion that I'm pleased I didn't pay for a clone.
