If you like F1 games then maybe its worth waiting for the PS3, but have a look at its other release titles and future titles and compare to the 360.

If there are enough titles you like on the PS3 then wait for it but don't get a console just for 1 game.

lol yea i no, i have played the 360 and was well impressed with gow and this new game lost planet looks incredable, but then theres my f1 and Gran Turismo,i really am confused, dont want to buy both, just a waste of money IMO.

If any of you have played a PS3, opinions please?

I've played the F1 demo on the PS3.. and it was quite disappointing, the 'feel' was quite poor, it's as if they've tried to throw loads of graphics effects at it, and ignored the development towards more of a simulation then a pretty arcade game.

If you want a 'simulation' of F1, then the PS3 version doesn't look like it will upto the task. Then there is the fact GT5 is going to be 2008... leaving bugger all but possibly Colin Mcrae rally as the only decent driving game, which is multiplatform.

Your choice of course, I have both (My brothers PS3), and after I played motorstorm and RfoM, it's now gathering dust.. it just doesn't have enough decent titles at the moment, unlike the 360, where R6/GoW/Lost Planet/Viva Pinata/PGR3 are still keeping me busy.

I have played the f1 demo and maybe its the difficuly settings that you need to channge to make it feel like a simulator? anyway motorstorm is great, even my wife was impressed with that one! do what i did and buy all 3 consoles then you can play all the games lol

ya see thats why i want a ps3!! game looks sweet but if the gameplay and physics suk then i quess theres no point. i no its all down to the players perspective so aghhh!!! im heading to the states in a few weeks here so hopefully ill get a test drive somewhere. having started a thread regarding importing ive realised thats a waste of time.

Mate, get a usa one the exchange rate is verygood atm so you would be able to pick one up for say £300 ish 20 meg version, if they do come out in the uk in march they will be scarce.

sonys f1 games have always been arcade y haven't they ?

wich is a good thing IMO , F! simulators are too hard to pick up and play for me :p

ive always loved the f1 games, from f1 97 on the psone right up to 06, i have them all, dont want to break tradition!!! i was really considing the usa 60gig but due to warrenty issues and unable to play previous versions and the inability to watch films kinda knackkered that idea

Their is an option on the dashboard to install a new os on the ps3 :) so I would think someone will get round the pal dvd and games problem, if they havent already!!

JUMPURS said Formula 1 was okay, but could be a lot better. Seems a bit of a disappointment really.

I'm in the middle of downloading Yellow Dog Linux as we speak. There is a media player which will play DiVX and I'm sure there will be an app to play my PAL DVD's too. This woudl solve all my problems and make the PS3 do everything I want it too.

With regards to F1, I used to love the Geoff Crammond games for the PC but they arent releasing any more as far as I'm aware so the only decent F1 games left are the PS ones. This version has more tweaks as far as I can see so that you can make it much more like a sim than the previous arcadey style versions. Other than that you could get yourself a cheap pcopy of Geoff Crammonds GP4 from fleabay, there are huge communities of modders who always update the car models and tracks etc to the latest season and considering it's a good few years old you wouldn't need the latest GFX card to run it. Obviousley I'm assuming you have a PC but I suppose you could be typing this on any number of gadgets nowadays.

Why dont you look at titles due to be released on both platforms, cross off any you can get for the PC, if you have a gaming rig, and then think about which ones you most want to play from each. Then go for the one with the most titles you really want.
