Can anybody think of anybody else apart from Fernando Torres who has won both the World Cup and European championship and the Champions League and UEFA Cup (europa league)? If he is the only one what a record to have!

If you take out the Europa League quite a few Spaniards I would surmise, the AAA teams generally don't qualify for it.

Plus hasn't Torres spent most of the time on the bench for each of the cups anyway?

Not really, I mean the only one there which is uncommon for players to have is the Europa League and that's mainly because if they're decent enough to be in a World Cup/Euro winning squad then they're more than likely playing for a club in the Champions League. :p

I don't think that's the point, the point is winning all those medals even if you think the UEFA cup is a mickey mouse competition.

what did the commentators say during the Europea League final? there was some reference to Torres unique record - is it that he has scored in a final of each competition?

Still a **** player, he got Carlo and RDM sacked most of his goals this season are in cups against mickey mouse teams. Will never even be half the player he was at Liverpool, he is no Drogba thats for sure.

I read it was something along the lines of that he is a current reigning winner of the following:

World Cup
European Championship
Champions League
Europa League

Most expensive striker that can't score in the league

fixed, he'll probably hold the last title for quite a number of years, likely till inflation makes 50mil an "average" buy :p

Hopefully some mug is fooled by his record and offers stupid money to take him off our hands.

Will take some hit financially on any deal, not only in transfer fee, but I doubt anybody is going to pay him the wage he earns at Chelsea, so may have to subsidise his wages for remainder of his Chelsea deal.

Would make sense to offer him as a make weight to bring Falcao in. Would be a good move for all parties IMO.

As much as he amuses me these days 22 goals and those honours isn't bad for a player who's universally perceived to be a complete flop.

To think that the difference between 22 and 25 goals is the difference between being classed as a flop and winning you global recognition, countless individual awards as well as comparisons to players like Messi and Ronaldo
