Torres's record

I didn't realise anyone outside Taggart and Welbeck himself rated Welbeck

[edit]Heskey only once had a season as bad as the one Welbeck had just had. It was playing for a relegation-threatened Villa and was his penultimate season as a footballer (his last in English football). Even though their goal return was the same, Heskey had far less playing time.

Welbeck is worse than Heskey ever was at the same age.

Hopefully some mug is fooled by his record and offers stupid money to take him off our hands.

I've always liked him. I would like to see him at the Lane but not for silly money. I don't think the high price tag helped set him off on the right foot which he never recovered. I think he felt easier and at home with Benítez, having worked with him before. He scored some important goals for you boys.

Heskey had a couple of good seasons for Liverpool and before that was good at Leicester.

I seem to recall him doing well after he first went to Brum as well, though I think his time at Wigan and Villa was largely forgettable.

Borini is poo, Sterling is raw and a winger, Suarez works better in support and Sturridge is your only real 'goal getter' (I am aware that Suarez has been scoring and I rate him but I think he works better as a support man rather than carrying the whole team).

Don't want Torres though, unless we got him for less than £10m, which wouldn't happen due to how much he cost Chelsea.

Love how this thread starts about the quadruple crown of football and heskey ends up getting mentioned
