Just a random thought, what if the reason that a 16 core Ryzen hasn't been formally announced yet is that it'll appear in Apple's WWDC event this week when Apple may announce a new Mac Pro ???
Its not inconceivable that Apple could switch to Ryzen chips ... they have made bigger swaps in the past.
A potentially lower TDP with higher than average core count to be fitted into an unusual Apple type shell ... PCIe 4 ... I could see that.
What about thunderbolt ? Well, as I understand it, whilst Intel have the rights, old articles refer to Apple having unrestricted use of it ... they could potentially drop it in as it uses PCIe lanes.
Would explain why the 16c hasn't been formally put out there yet ...
I'll get me coat ...
