Total War: Warhammer 3

blood for the blood god and all that.
TFW you've been in 13 black crusades and it's just getting a bit old

I liked the look of the new game mode. It kind of reminded me a little bit of the old BFME story missions. I think varying it from the standard smooshing 2 armies together until one of them loses is a good move.

Dunno, never gets old to me, reckon I could do 10,000 crusades with out any sign of burn out, but a bit of variaty is welcome.
Be good if they did the sea loot mechanics but on land.

Probably not the right thread for this discussion, but I wonder what's next for the fantasy team? There'll be loads of DLC for TW3, sure. But following that will they try their hand at another fantasy setting, or revert to the two historical teams?

I'd be very suprised if they didn't try their hand at a Warhammer: Age of Sigmar game.

Problem with Age of Sigmar is that it’s very light on the lore compared to The Old World and there’s not nearly as many factions. As fun as it’d be seeing a bunch of golden armoured guys charging around, I can’t see how they could pull it off to the scale the current ones do.

Good shout. I'd say Games Workshop are very happy with how the TW games have done, and would be more than happy to continue the relationship.

Part of me thinks it'd be more likely they'd try and tie in the next game with Warhammer: The Old World, I don't think AoS would necessarily work in the TW format but it would be a great 'look at this new version of Warhammer' tie in to really kick the new miniature game into popular view.

I'm probably an outlier but I played hundreds of hours TW2 mainly for multiplayer pvp rather than the campaign.

There were quite a few issues with multiplayer which meant I finally stopped playing :

1. The various factions are not balanced at all. I guess it's the nature of the lore. But it meant when you did 1 v 1 the opponent would just counter pick whatever you chose.

2. Whilst there was a quick play option, it was mainly for 1 v 1. The matchmaking didn't really exist. There were multiplayer lobbies that would have a few rooms at peak but even then very hit and miss.

Yes yes I know the game is about the campaign. But playing epic 3 v 3 battles etc with matchmaking/search would be so good.

Is it worth playing 1 or 2 or could I just jump into WH3 and not be over whelmed?

Yes, it takes a while to encounter and fight of the other factions etc, never found it overwhelming, only thing is the magic aspect, lots of spells and some micromanaging that.

I imagine if you want all the factions to play in the final grand campaign then you might need 1&2 as well.

I literally cannot wait to add this to my maxed out DLC for warhammer 1 and 2. Ive simply been waiting for the Mortal Empires to become the huge world conquering epic campaign it was always meant to be after the 3rd instalment.
