Totally fed up with gaming

to top it all off, my most played game as of late is UT2004 - a six year old game. Its a pity nothing has come along that has the same fluidity, there isnt a deathmatch focused game that the competetive players have embraced since.

UT3 has its micro-community going strong. Very small mind, but very dedicated. I am still loving it there.

Yeah :< I'm upset cos I used to love gaming, but I can hardly bring myself to even boot up a game nowadays. I miss Star Wars Galaxies lol. That was the last game I played when I remember still loving games.

I'm also bored of gaming but it's because i've played all my games into the ground and there's nothing decent coming out until mafia 2 / tdu 2 in august/september.

I've also lost my gaming wood, last game I played and enjoyed was Dawn of war II and the expansion.

I'm really hoping there is going to be a Company of Heroes 2, that would hopefully rekindle my gaming love.

Ditto to both points.

Wouldn't it be great to see a Pacific based COH? What with the recent showing of The Pacific on tv. Would be good to get some Japanese Units.

I have about 30 games i've never completed and i still find myself looking longingly at D2 LOD on a weekly basis and wishing some company, somewere, would make a game I actually NEED to play. If only the gfx and resolution were better and there was another expansion.

Too many games can be a problem.

I started to feel the same as you. Then decided to focus on only one game at a time. Completed Mass Effect, then ME2, then Dragon Age, then Assassin's Creed, now playin AC2.

I think the scattergun approach can really throw you off.

Mass Effect was the catalyst, such a fantastic game if you give it a bit of work.

i have the same issue, now and again ill go through these periods, they last around a year maybe a couple of months longer and then i go mad for gaming again and try to catch up but never succeed.

Last game i played to completion was Bioshock 2, before that deadspace and before that Cod MW1, before that halflife 2 all on release day and all just before a drout, im going through one now but it will pass you just have to stick it out and not try to force it or youl make it worse.

Best advice would probably be to stop playing games for a month or so, take up a different hobby.

A few weeks down the line, you'll probably realise what you've been missing out on and then you'll get back into the gaming world.

play a mmog like eq2 join a good raiding guild that raid regular say 3 nights a week , 26 people in a voice comms channel on an end boss that takes 30+ minutes to kill and 1 false curse cure and you wipe and have to start again.

makes you work hard but the rewards are high, theres nothing like it imo to keep you hooked once the single play element starts to grind you down.

The latest expansion is total balls though and the lag is still present in the whole game which is the single most annoying thing ever. Fact. What server do you play on anyways?

dont be annoyed by not being into it as much as you once were lol i played final fantasy for a solid week before turning my ps2 off ( yeah without sleep) i barely play games now lol

if it's a serious problem for ya, try playing a different type of game, platformer? or puzzle? or i dont know, something you've never tried before, it might rekindle the gaming nerd within lol

Jap, russian, Indian, Australian, Italian, Canadian forces :)

I love CoH but may try Men of War, I hear it's the natural successor to CoH.

Get Starcraft 2 when it comes out.

Yep, get a game which requires the use of your brain as well as hand eye coordination to beat your opponent. Much more stimulating to play and learn to master.

Single player games are fun for a while but ultimately fleeting experiences. For some real gaming stimulation it has to be multiplayer. Either the more social type game like an mmo or something competitive like an rts or for a quick rush whatever your favourite online FPS is, personally speaking nothing beats the pure fps genre gaming of Quakelive.

Or just start reading books (whilst gate camping in Eve online)
