Who do you recommend when it comes to buying touch up paint for a car? I need some but there are so many companies supplying the paint...ta

For respraying?

Valspar is the one I see a lot on TV programmes.

Others here:

If you have the paint code mate just go on ebay. I have bought touch up from a few different seller using the paint code and it has always been sport on.

I've bought colour coded paint from ebay sellers before and it's been close enough I couldn't see the difference.

A spray is going to be better for fixing a scratch. Sand down slightly (just in to the old laquer, not bare metal). Then a few light layers of colour, laquer and then machine polish. You won't see it after.

I have a deep scratch on my car (16 plate)......i am not confident with spraying. I have done it with spray cans over 30 years ago on my Dads VW Beetle...lol

A good touch up paint would be good...

Anyone use.."Paint Nuts"....

I been watching youtube vids about building up the paint and wet sanding it down etc....

If it's down to metal then a touchup pen won't work. You'll need a layer of primer as well.

Pic of scratch required.

What car and what year is it?
Its a 5" long deep scratch down to the metal...2016...Citroen C1....

No pics sorry...

I had a quote of £480 to fix, lol.....

I just want to have a go myself. Its not an expensive car etc....

If it is just a hairline type scratch a high adhesion touch up pen will work fine, personally I found the best stuff for polishing it back after is the headlight abrasive polish from the Holts kit but unfortunately doesn't seem to be available separately - unless using proper polishing tools and some experience you are almost definitely going to get holographic swirls, etc. with most of the off the shelf products despite the marketing.

Yea, i thought that myself.

Should i go for touch up pens (primer, paint, clear top coat) or small bottles?
