Toxikk - Frag like it's 1999

Back in 1999 hardly anyone hosted their own server on their own machine.

I found the opposite to be true tbh, especially in AvP2 and Soldier of Fortune, the more populated servers were definitely hosted ones but they were surrounded by tons of self hosted servers.

The day when I'd start up AvP2 and then look for a survivor server and then when joining everyone complaining of joiner lag.....I miss those days :(

I picked up a copy of this game. Even if no one ends up playing it in 12 months I'd still want to support old school no-BS shooters. As said above, even if it's just a timekiller until the next UT it's worth getting.

Love the movement in the game, Yeah the lack of maps is poop right now but it's early access so you really cant complain when they are trying to balance everything in logical stages which seems to be the best way IMO. Everything feels very polished though so hopefully come may time (according to the road map) the game will have all of its maps and be almost in full swing.

When I loaded this after buying when it was released recently I could barely read the menu it was all blurred and messed up. Haven't tried it since :/

This just popped up on my Steam home page, I had some money in my wallet from selling random guff, so went for it.

Omg it awesome. Its got that proper intense edge of your seat shouting at the screen feel I used to get with UT and Quake 3 back in the day.

This will likely flop as the concept of dying a lot and having to use skill not perks is alien to most young FPS players. I doubt any of my mates will buy it either :(

Played this a lot but uninstalled a few months ago as it was totally dead which is a shame because its a really good old school arena shooter.

Was thinking this, and its sad if it comes to that because I personally love the look of it, very polished. I'm almost disappointed with myself that its been in dev for 2 years and I had not spotted it sooner

They do have competition as well, the new UT has been available for the public for as long as this has been in development, which already had some pretty solid grass roots support, and its free to play

Good to see a free version thats not gimped. Even though I did buy the game hopefully the move to free generates some footfall as its a great drop in / drop out game and doesn't need you to spend your entire existence getting level ups.

downloaded the free version last night, took 3 attempts to join a server but once in a game thought it was GREAT fun! only downside is I cant find an option to invite or play with friends which is a massive let down,is it possible to play with friends on full paid version?
