How much is a BMW indy charging for tracking both front and rear?

Just took my car to Tyre place and got a massive shock:eek:

All four of my tyres are gone!

Your car is pretty well corroded is it not? I would expect everything to be seized tbh. Spare track rods and camber bolts are easy, but if you have a trailing arm bolt snap, you're gonna have a bad time.

That's why I'm taking it the Indy. I called them just before they closed and He said 90 quid for 4 wheel alignment.

I asked him to look at the brakes and stuff as I'm due Inspection 2 in 5K...

That's £240

Anyhow just ordered 4 new tyres and (Gets Flame retardant coat on :o ) I bought new to the Market

2 x Primewell Sport 910 255/35/R18
2 X Primewell Sport 910 225/40/R18

For the sum of £221 delivered.

What on earth? What makes you think a 50 quid tyre in that size is going to be anything other than terrible?!

If they are...I'll buy some more. Its gets me back on the road and I have read 5 series BMW owners love em.:D

A proper tyre also gets you 'back on the road' and more importantly keeps you there, especially as you tackle those country lanes at 80mph ;)

PZ900 below...The Sport 910's are new out and reviews seem good.Better than the PZ900's

"Have had these on my BMW 330ci, 225 40 18 and 255 35 18. Some of the reviews on here are actually laughable. These are decent tyres and quieter than Bridgestone. DSC light has yet to come on, lots of traction when the torque kicks in. Don't be put off by reviewers with front wheel drive cars, would recommend to RWD. Last set lasted 15,000 miles. Not bad for the value you get, and good wet weather grip."

"i fit over 100 primewell tyres a week, they are a stunning tyre, clearly you ppl dont know what your talking about, your comparing a primewell to a pirelli p zero which costs almost twice as much n moaning about gettin 15k plus outa them ? for the money they are great, if ur not happy with them put a set of "suntracks " on then you'll relaise what a poor tyre really is !"

Anyway...I'll see how they go.

Good old fashioned delusions I see.

Lets get things into perspective here. I'm driving a rusty 142K BMW on the motorway every other weekend.

I'm not racing on the track or driving like I haven't been laid.:D

I sit back listen to Radio 4 and pick my nose.:p

I'm sure these tyres will be fine. If not I'll replace them with some Sunny ones!:D

There are no 'reviews', just deluded purchase justification from people desperate to convince themselves they bought £50 tyres for a car where a decent tyre costs more than twice that for reasons other than because they wanted the absolute cheapest tyre they could find.

There are some half decent non premium tyres out there but Primewell are very much not among them.

If you don't want to spend £100+ per tyre then don't buy cars fitted with 255 section tyres on 18 inch wheels!

Yeah...The BMW is becoming a PITA....If I didn't have family commitments I would just use my Motorbike...TBH

It could be a rust coloured 900k mile BMW or it could be a brand new one, it makes absolutely no difference and I'm not sure why you think it would.

Besides, you told us only last week you do 80mph on country lanes, thats not cruising down the Motorway in the slow lane is it?

Yea, because only people who race on a track need anything more than 'Primewell' tyres.

No its not...As said I'll see how I get on with them. They might save me some fuel as I might have to sloooooooooooooooow right down. Then again they might be fine.

You're kidding yourself - I paid just under 300 fitted for an actual "good" set of rears recently. No you don't need to spend that much to get s decent tyre but any rear under 120 quid or so will be absolutely brutal. You don't even need to know anything about tyres to realise that, just look at the range of cost they come in at and make a judgement from that

The "reviews" are ******** too, of course you can invoke DSC on a 325 when driving it ham fistedly, regardless of what tyre is on. Quite surprised your willing to try such cheap nasty crap Tbh, by all means put a reasonably priced tyre on that has at least some proper evidence on its performance but those things will be horrible

I beat that and bought some Michelin PS3's for the rears a couple of years back. Guess what ? they lasted 9 months and never felt 400 quids worth lol

I'll feedback in a couple of days....I reckon they won't be as Bad as the Accelera PH1 :p They all have to pass safety checks :p

Thats because they were Michelin PS3's, a quick search would have told you that despite the name they were not the replacement for the PS2 and are not Michelin's performance tyre, that is now the Pilot SuperSport.

You'd have been better off with Contisport Contact 5 or Eagle F1 Assymetric 2 both of which cost less and perform better than the Michelin.

I was on the Verge of Buying some Avon ZZ5's from Camskill at £390 but changed my mind and decided to cheap it up.

Hailed as a "flagship tyre for the budget sector" the Primewell Sport 910 will replace the ever popular PZ900, and will be available in 37 sizes ranging from 195/55R15 to 255/35R20 with speed ratings of V to W.

Come on the Sport 910's are UHP tyres :p They can't be that turd. Open your mind!

Just to add to this discussion, I once had the misfortune of buying some primewells for my old Ibiza FR about 4 years ago, my god they were terrible, the road noise was awful, the handling was awful and they didn't last particularly well either.

That was the first and last time I ever bought budget tyres. Lesson learned.

To be fair different tyres work better on some cars than others. FWD, RWD weight, torque ,power, all play a part.

3.5 million UK drivers use them currently having done some research. Including public transport and Haulage firms.

You are quite literally quoting Primewells own press release, it is they who are saying its a 'flagship tyre' not anyone else..

Bet you E46 over at Bimmer forums jump on these like they did with FK452:p

True though this may be it's somewhat unlikely that a tyre that was total garbage on an Ibiza turns out to great on an E46.

He might not have been using the UHP and the ones for the SUV:p

This is hardly suprising given many will simply ask for the cheapest possible tyre to be fitted irrespective of performance.

Not sure what relevance this has.

a lot of BMW dealers use them apparently.

I could imagine PS3s if they are anything like the PE2 would have quite a soft sidewall for such a big car.

My dad just fits crap tyres and always has. Going from crap worn tyres to new crap tyres feel good so you can justify it to yourself I think.

The car is currently fitted with 4x Falken FK 452's

A fair point. But if he didn't find them great just imagine how he will find the Primewells if he doesn't decide to pretend they are awesome to justify his choice :p

If they work and get me through until next JUNE when MOT is due I'll be happy.

I'm not expecting glue like grip...But I'm expecting a decent level of grip that meets European safety standards.:p

220 quid for 20k miles is mouth watering :p
