Do you really think if the OP thought PS3s weren't great he would then find the CS5's or Eagle F1's notably better?


The 2012 Evo tyre test for instance has all three pretty much on par. PS3's marginally worse in the dry and marginally better in the wet.

The ADAC 2013 test has the CS5 in the top spot with the PS3 in fourth (with matching dry performance and slightly worse wet this time).

Therefore, its pretty subjective but they are all pretty close on performance...

A fair point. But if he didn't find them great just imagine how he will find the Primewells if he doesn't decide to pretend they are awesome to justify his choice :p

If they work and get me through until next JUNE when MOT is due I'll be happy.

I'm not expecting glue like grip...But I'm expecting a decent level of grip that meets European safety standards.:p

220 quid for 20k miles is mouth watering :p

Indeed they will. It's what you're not expecting when the issues become apparent. A car in front brakes heavily in the wet, you hit standing water or have to swerve.

Then the 'not so impressive for the price' premium tyres shine.

Also just thinking about it, maybe you didn't think the PS3s were great because of your geo issue...
 
Got the tracking done...Was 90inc and the indy said it was very badly out.

Also got the Sport 910's fittted.

I took a spirited drive home yesterday down those country lanes I spoke of...It was dim ad dank and moist.

These tyres are not crap by any stretch of the imagination. They offered great grip and my confidence at speed was not affected.

No I wouldn't I genuinely wasn't expecting this level of grip. If they were indeed crap I would say so.

I assure you I am not suffering from Purchase Justification Complex.

Its sounds to me that you want them to be crap in order to validate the more known brands.

Fact is...I threw the car about last night and these tyres performed well.
 
Vredesteins weren't that we'll known in 2008 and I was straight onto them in those days.

Same goes with Nokians. I've got not issue going with unfamiliar brands but are they in any tyre tests ?
