Does anyone have any experience with this? I was thinking about getting one for use with flight sims but don't know if it can be used with a projector or if it's just suited to monitors. Anyone find it usefull or is it just an expansive gimmick?

Thanks.

I wont fly sims without it now, it's as crucial as a joystick is in my opinion.

Will be fine with whatever you want to use it with, it's basically a webcam that tracks a set of dots you wear on a hat or headphones. All you need to do is find a suitable place for the unit and adjust settings to suit.

Thanks for the reply. I was hoping that would be the answer as it looks like it could save a lot of hassle. I'll just hope that DCS Black Shark isn't too far away now. :)

Heh, I'll be getting that so long as they don't use the dreaded Starforce for CP, it would even persuade me to upgrade my TrackIR2 to the latest 6DoF version.

Yeah...fingers crossed that they don't go with Starforce. It could be really good if they get it right and I'm just hoping they don't let it down by going with something like Starforce. From what I've seen of it so far in videos it does look like it would be pretty unforgiving without TrackIR.

The main problem with Trackir and projectors is finding a suitable mounting position for the Trackir itself. With a monitor you just pop the sensor on top of it but with the PJ you have to either mount the sensor behind you and reverse the controls in the TIR panel or find a way of mounting it close enough in front of you to be of any use.
