Trading the stockmarket (NO Referrals)

Jeffstar, have you looked at GGP (Greatland Gold) at all? I have been keeping a casual eye on it for a long time, but never put any cash in. Any opinions?

Ta

Don't have that on my watchlist so haven't studied it mate, but just had a quick glance. Politically safe country and getting a little funding from the Gov too. Seems to be in the stage of proving up recources as are many of these small cap miners. Some news due in Oct so may be worth taking a nibble but a lot of profit taking right now so timing your buy won't be easy. Good luck !

Don't use X-O but some here do. I am sure someone else will be along that can help out a bit more soon enough.

Selftrade have a nice interface but are expensive and don't mind shafting you, so would move away if I could be arsed.

You sold too early mate, GGG up another 10% today, you may have been wise to top slice only leaving you with a completely risk free investment. Doesn't matter what the sp does after that and can buy more on dips if they occur. Mine will be held for years in my SIPP for a nice retirement :)

i got into GGG a while ago. think i read about them and then saw that the chairman upped his share holding massively. seemed like a good punt to me.

i have taken some profit and my stake out. clear sailing from here on in!!

Currently up ~20% on AIM portfolio. Very young investor @3 months. Most research done through iii and LSE.

RRL @5.9p small loss
XEL @70p huge gain
SXX @2.9p huge gain
BEM @5.9 small gain
GKP @150p decent loss (wanted in much earlier, unf timed w/fake 2mm sales)
GGG @14p - this morning

Jeffstar & other resources guys - you looked into BEM? Definitely worth some of your time imo.

Think everyone knows about RRL and XEL, pleased to get in when I did. Will be selling XEL post spud and look for re-entry. Very excited about GKP, didn't get in at the best of times but definitely a hold.

I'm holding shares inside three wrappers - ISA, SIPP and standard share account with H&L. Got SXX BEM and GGG in the SIPP as long termers. Quick question if anyone can answer re SIPP, I have deposited £1800 into my SIPP and bought shares with nearly all of it. Currently holding £280 in cash. When do I get the £400+ tax relief I am due? Or somehow does this not apply when share dealing?

If anyone has any takes on companies I'm invested in, I'd be interested to hear. Also any other oilies. I obv missed the NPE and RKH boats :(

so the 303.10 is in pence? I always thought it was pounds, haha ¬_¬

edit: Should have seen by the total shares x price = market cap ._.

double edit: no i'm confused

Should be a 10% short term gain quite easy with a 300p entry based on previous movement

That was my thought also but I think today and tomorrow will be down days so I may hold out until tomorrow.

Im playing with quite large number so a 10% gain is a lot of money.

hmmm...cant make up whether or not RRL for the long term is a good move or not...

imo it definitely is.
the price is under pinned by texas, they have the trinadad operation that they got into recently, then there is Georgia and puntland (the big ones).
its a risk of course but the company is run extremely well and i am very happy to hold.

If you like risky stocks take a look over MWA.

Currently mining 25,000oz gold.....waiting on a 10million loan to upgrade to 50,000oz.

Potential clients lined up for nickel offtake agreement, which should allow for easy funding to restart BNC mining.

Oh and the best of all, research the possible gold deposits they have in the DRC. Perhaps a possible 5-7million oz. Early doors yet.

KEA on the move today - up 17% today so far.

Was tempted to buy more to bring down my average price but now not sure if I'm jumping in after the rise!
