Trading the stockmarket (NO Referrals)

Can you guys guide me into this, what websites do you use to monitor your stocks? and is there some type of account you must have or fees you must pay to play the stocks?

Total "newb" at stocks tbh, i'd be interested in playing penny shares, and see if that gets me anywhere, don't have massive amounts of cash lying around to throw at this :(

www.shareprice.co.uk - for monitoring live prices, can also input your buys and it calculates what they're worth in relation to the live prices.

Completely free.

I use www.x-o.co.uk for trading, £5.99 per trade (buy or sell), then you have stamp duty to pay on each buy transaction.

I started dabbling in penny shares around 6 months a go, the two above sites have been all i need.

mcast123 (or a mod) should really put this information on the first post, it gets asked every other page these days. Would help prospective traders no end. :)

So are penny shares quite unreliable at making a profit i assume, from what i read there are large risks taken with penny shares as they're often hard to sell off?

So you recommend spread betting on penny shares bes?

NO!!!!!!

God no, quite the opposite.

Spread betting is leveraged and most SB brokers won't even allow SB on penny stocks as their market cap will be too small. (There are exceptions of course)

The Bid/ Offer spread on them is often so wide, (the diff between the buy and sell price), that it can be hard to make a profit on them

Ahh okay, a misunderstanding on my side of the fence, i'm still learning but won't be taking a lunge anytime soon, need to get my pennies from work first before spending the pennies so to speak
