Trading the stockmarket (NO Referrals)

Because environmental concerns is now 'woke'
its not all environmental though it is?

the new lobbying is buying shares and trying to force changes on companies.

if they don't like the business how about don't buy into them... start a competitor that handicaps itself instead

Not sure if shareholders want to make money, or strangle a company

Ecowarrior trusts buying shares of companies to turn them super woke?
I voted "for" for all but the disclosure for director donations because that's their own private business what they do with their money

You're right it's not all environmental, it's also working conditions and due dilligence. So woke. I guess you want slaves in there.

Highly doubt 'eco warrior trusts' are buying up amazon like you said, but large shareholders probably don't want to be on the wrong side of this in the future. The consumer is becoming ever more aware.

I'm not sure you quite understand the point of shareholding. It's not simply a way to earn dividends or speculate, it's control of the company.

Don't want shareholders having a say? Don't sell your company to them.

I wonder how the markets will react on Monday to the Israel-Iran war potential
VIX hit - an indicator of volatility - resulted a 2-3% market pull back and in a lot of stop losses on Friday. Markets are going absolutely to respond negatively - BTC already dipped 9% as a precursor to negative sentiment.

The vix is due to inflation/interest rates/debt, nothing to do with the iran situation.

I think it will depend on whether more is known about whether Israel will counter-attack or not by the time markets open. They've given a 48 hour window I think where they may take action. If not known, I'd expect an initial sharp drop followed by a recovery during the day as more is known, assuming it's good news that they will not take action.

Rising inflation and oil prices are bigger news for the US markets anyway. The latter could be directly affected by this attack. Markets are irrational, nobody knows what it will do.

It was a response to how "markets will react on Monday to the Israel-Iran war potential?" If markets are responding negatively to VIX you don't think further Middle East instability won't?

Could be good for palantir and any military stocks.

unless something else happens before Monday then I doubt the hit will be much overall

as far as Irans concerned its over. USA is probably telling Israel not to escalate it anymore.
