I've seen this tactic before - release a slightly down RNS immediately before releasing the big positive one - thereby creating a small drop and accentuating the large rise the next day - better for PR, for new shareholder interest etc. For example - they didn't release this today, and FIRST released the good news tomorrow - price goes to 2p. THEN they release this news - price goes back down to 1.70 - looks bad. This way, they release this today, share price drops a little, then release the good news quickly after - price climbs to 1.70. We end in the same place, but the increase on the good news appears larger, gives shareholders confidence, gains good publicity etc which is all better long and short term, as it looks like a share on the up, not already over a peak and on the way back down. Very clever management of news to gain maximum pr and shareholder advantage.
