Trading the stockmarket (NO Referrals)

Do you day trade bullit or do you go long on your positions usually?
(Just wondering at one point it would be useful to start shelling out a tenner a month).

I didnt intend to (day trade that is) but found that selling to make a small profit works as well , just on the ups and downs of the day. For me with a small portfolio I could proberbly of just used the free streaming and login every 10 mins to keep it live, but it got annoying after a while so I though for 10 quid+ vat its not a bad price, and now I have it I have to make it pay/worth while. I have a full time job to do as well but happily I can leave it running in the back ground on the works pc and buy and sell as need be.
I'm am under no illusion I know I will proberbly lose it all , but I limit my self to smaller purchases, so far all but one, are up, But I am confident it'll rise next week. ;)

I dont know what is etiquet with regards to traders do you pass on tips or keep them to yourself. I would always say to other "at your own risk" but I love hearing others tip so I can check out what there theories on stocks, I have my own stratergiythat on paper works, ie I played with imaginary money to see if it worked. and it does. ;)

this week I'm up a small amount on sold shares and up a little less on the bought shares, friday was a slow day bar the start of the day which I missed due to getting the kids to school. SAR and PYC set me up for the week. but alas I did nt make the huge profit I could have If I had stayed in till lunch , but cie la vie a small profit and often is a good a good profit.

bullit

Added another long tranche in RKH on weakness pre results yesterday at 349.75p, which turned out to be badly timed... :( Other tranches at 324.78p and 299.7p, average = 324.74p

Fingers crossed for some good news on the current drill in the next few days!

RKH bargaintastic price sub 300p :)

:o :(

Lost 25% of my pot in 4 days! Boo & Hiss!

Tempted to use it as a buying opportunity though...

277p is just daft given the supposed downside protection offered by Sea Lion @ 170m barrels + the £200m they raised from Merrill Lynch in October.

They're keeping the OG and appraising Sea Lion next. The next month will be incredibly interesting.

Puntland- 18 Billion Barrels OIP

Trinidad

Sexier than Texas, will value at $300 Mill once production and reserves are ramped up!

Puntland Offshore

Could be as big as onshore?

£3.03 per share

If there is someone accumulating these i want 70-80p minimum for mine!

Hahaha i love the iii forums for the sheer optimism. If this guy's valuation is correct that I will be worth in excess of £3m.....lets just say im not holding my breath.

Why is he projecting a Puntland barrel to be worth only $5 (cheap?), but a Georgian barrel is worth $30 (completely unrealistic!)?

If an sp of £3.03 would make your stake worth £3m, that implies a current exposure of ~£165,000 (~1,000,000 shares, or 10k per point @ current sp of 16.5p).

That's brave...

Ahem, to be honest i plucked that number out of the ether :D I bought £5k of RRL at 5p, sold last week at 17p then repurchased £10k at 14p

@Meesh - to be honest I would expect a bit of a decrease in the share price over the next few days. The world and his dog will tell you to expect an RNS at first thing on Monday, when it doesnt happen it will be first thing on tuesday etc. I could have course be wrong and they release great news on Monday....hence the wonder of the stockmarket :D

Putting a jinx on it by posting I'm sure but I "might" be getting into Argos on Monday.

depends if Fridays drop carries through tomorrow

lol you might be right but I think he means Argos the oil company exploring in Falkland islands.

I did think the same myself when I first heard of them but pretty sure argos is held in some other named company, just a brand.

Looked up Argos retailer, its listed under HOME
Nice div apparently

google says ARG finished up yahoo it ended down

3 quid on RRL is possible but I imagine it would take a lot of time and investment to get there. Speculating on what puntland might be worth seems silly

Alarm has just gone off for Argos ( ARG )
WTF it's 5:00 am
Someone has set the opening price at 10p !!
-74.36%
mistake or time to put in an order. Hmmm
Little tricks by the mm's to alert people on the sly ?? they know something I don't! :(
I've had it where they've set up the opening price at say 7:50am ready for the off at 8:00am which is understandable, but not this early. :-/
****ing swines waking me up this early

This alert was triggered at 04:52:13 , we sent it on to your email within 31.07 seconds.
Information regarding revised alerting logic: Pleas note we trigger alerts on pre-market and post
market activity if your alerts are set on bid or ask changes meaning alerts may start triggering from 30 minutes before market open or 30 minutes after market close. During this phase, in addition to the auction periods pre and post market close, the bid/offer prices may fluctuate significantly.
I'm guessing a cleaner or a cat has stumbled across someones keyboard then as this is somewhat outside the 30 min window!
Right, back to some Zzzzzz

edit**
Bugger! Definitely a glitch in the matrix at shareprice HQ as everything now showing as 10p.
Panic over :D

Don't forget that the LSE is migrating to MIT this morning. I don't think you'll see any prices on the order book until 7.40/7.50am. Fingers crossed for no funny goings on.

Added another tranche in RKH at 283.63p, to my others at 299.7p, 324.78p & 349.75p.

Average now adjusted down from 324.74p to 314.47p.

Averaging down is a risky game!

Whats your investment in RKH? What are its prospects? I don't know what much about the company but wouldnt mind a sneaky punt

Puntland is relatively politically unstable, has no infrastructure, and will ultimately not be developed by RRL (will be sold on once/if proven, most believe). It will take a few $billion to develop the region if oil is found, so reserves are sold at a significant discount.

Georgia is much more stable, has geographically close infrastructure and markets, and thus far more likely to be developed by RRL. So, apply a discount for operational/capital expenditure but worth more per barrel.
