Trading the stockmarket (NO Referrals)

There are lots of good results coming out for the other banks, so hopefully investors will hold onto the shares this time.

Completely agree, hence why i ended up putting 2k in RBS earlier, I was umming and arring about getting in at 45p the other week aswell

i know i was umming and arring too, i would have made £500 in 3 days if i did

Having said that, the projections for Lloyds over the next 24months are much better than for RBS.

Lloyds maybe 3x were-as RBS would be 2x at best

Well that's it :(

I jumped in and bought £3000 worth of Lloyds shares at 66.6p

I really really hope i've done the right thing. :( :(

Not sure why i'm not confident about it. I feel that RBS must be peaking about now and there's no futher gains to be hand for a while, so i am hoping that Lloyds will go through a similar jump in the near future.

But i plan to hold on to them for the next 9months or so

Please convince me i haven't made a mistake PLEASE!!!!

Oh good god, we're all talking about Lloyds of London, NOT Lloyds Bank!!!

Just kidding :)

I've got a substantial Lloyds holding. My advice is to not check the price every day, don't let it rule your life. Within a year I'm hoping for 80-90p as things improve.

It'll never get to where it was before it dropped (look at the dilution today) but I think it is a good stong buy.

What forums do you guys read relating to investing?

I am considering selling an investment that is about 125% this year up as im not sure how much further its going to go and want a few ideas of where to put the profits.

Also do you guys subscribe to any stock monitoring programs (Reuters etc?)

What broker do people use? I pay £7.50 for most trades which i think is pretty good but if you can get better let me know :)

iii.cou.k and ADVFN are great sites though warning, they will take away your life :D

Am loving RBS at the moment but don't know whether to buy more - maybe after the election...same with Lloyds.

Big day tomorrow for Lloyds

Sold most of my Lloyds a few years ago at £6.50ish :D

Bought a small number a few months ago at 38p :D :D (ok, that was a rights issue so may not count lol)

Currently doing quite well with Barclays. But wish I'd bought more RBS.

Sold all of my AU. today, effectively removing me from the market. Over 25% gains and I have zero confidence in the market with the looming hung parliament. I've probably succumbed to the media furore but as someone put it earlier.. I can always curse the profits sat in my bank account..

I'd like to invest a small pot I've been saving. Looking to invest for around a year or longer should things look healthy.

As a first time trader I want to start small and learn about the market. So any tips for now would be great :)

I've spent ages on bullbearings.co.uk - its fantastic to get to grips with things.

Sold all my RBS ones 8am this morning after the markets are wobbling over Greece and Portugal at the moment. Going to watch them for a bit now...

Can't believe how well timed my sell was. Hopefully this downward trend continues for a short while and is exacerbated by the elections, then it will be prime-time to jump onto the banks.
