Shares split. 2 old shares = 3 new shares, so still roughly the same value.

Just to let you know, global stockmarkets are about to rise around 40-50% in the next 3 months, so any buy and hold investments should be fine. Be wary of when inflation caused by money printing kicks in, current theory is for new stockmarket lows next year.

+10% since post, we're roughly 1/4 of the way through this move up. I haven't analysed the FTSE but my DOW target is 11200 within a year then we head down again. Quick translation gives about 5500 target for FTSE100.

Up 67% ytd, trading is easier when we're in a clear trend, in this case up.

We hit 11309 on the DOW, so I was 109 points out in my 40-50% prediction last april. I stand by the same prediction, we will see new market lows from here.

I'm looking for a 50% drop from 11309 on the DOW (and the FTSE), within a year. I'm currently net short the market.

dyor etc etc

I cant believe you'd put 4k into 1 stock, why are you so certain. Hopefully its pocket change for you

Whats your trading background Mccast. That was a nice call.

Nice bounce off BP today its showing as the highest performing stock today. Anywhere near 500 I think it becomes a long term buy but who knows maybe that was close enough for many people

Everything down ATM, very glad I sold my Barclays last week even if I did miss out @370....kept my RBS and they're now at 44 :(

But bought at 33...so just holding on...if I sell I'll just waste the money somehow.

All my other shares are down too except the awesome RKH baby :D

Right, I want to come and join this party.
I've been tracking prices for a while, and scribbling it all down on backs of envelopes and my picks seemed to have been alright (mainly in the Oil & Gas industry, and taking advice from my father who is a leading expert in that field).
Only going to be investing £250 or so (is it even worth doing?), for now, as that's all I'm willing to lose for the time being.
Who should I be approaching to broker for me? I have an RBS bank account if that helps.

Edit - looking at it, at £10 a trade, is there really any point in investing such a small amount? I'll be needing big gains before returning any sort of profit...
