Trading the stockmarket (NO Referrals)

Today is a better entry point than a week ago if you have cash and want to invest.

But the chances of there being much, much better buying opportunities in the next few weeks/months are very, very good right now.

If the opportunity is even greater a month from now then that's fine for me as I'll be making the same regular investment next month... I appreciate what people are saying but I just don't trust myself to time it right

It's not about timing the market, you shouldnt be looking to enter equities at the moment, simple. Cash is king in this scenario, if you buy all the way down to the bottom, and continue buying when it reverses, you'll hardly be making any profit. Now is your chance to make far money than usual, just hold onto the the cash. Don't worry about the noise if there are relief rallies, don't be the chump trying to catch a falling knife, there will always be opportunities to make money in the future, you won't be missing out. Don't gauge sentiment by looking at charts, gauge it through economic data.

PMI's are dropping through the floor globally, this thing has just started, it's gonna be a while before the time to buy comes. When PMI's turns around, and there is an accumulation period going on in the charts, that will be the time.

Transferred my stocks and shares LISA to a cash LISA today. Don't have the risk appetite when saving for first house!

My I ask which product you took for cash LISA bud?
I'm going with MoneyBox as it has the highest interest rate at 1.4%.

Why? Are you buying the house soon?
Within 2 years or so. My balanced AJBell passive fund has been performing very well over the last six months with around a +8% change. It dropped to 2% the last couple of days with the state of the market. Has made me realize that I can't be bothered with the stress/uncertainty when saving for a house.

Sounds like a stocks and shares LISA was never the right product for you if the last couple of days made you realise that. My pension value has dropped a similar amount but I have no intention of changing the investment strategy as it'll no doubt recover in time, and investing is a long term plan.

In fact I'm looking to buy more this week through my S&S ISA, mostly in US markets.

I traded gold last week via forex xauusd, did very well just simply following the trends. Very big fluctuations which I was lucky to ride. Looking forward to the stock market opening at 11 to see what it does I’m specifically concentrating on gold at the moment

If you want to sell an ISA that’s currently in a single fund, and then buy another fund on same ISA account with the cash never leaving the broker, does that have tax implications?

When I was saving using a Lisa I just used the cash one.

Like you say, to risky

Disagree.
Could go a lot further down

Price is secondary to quality, I just see this sell off as profit taking and its probably viewable as a positive for longer term. There has to be some range of money where it doesnt matter if price goes down, only is the company establishing that decade long asset in whatever sector. Theres tons of hot money in this market, has to be that creates advantages for those not beholden to anyone but their own aspirations.

No good news today. Interests rates are so low there's very little central banks can do to mitigate the impact.

More falls coming....

It sounds like the CB's are going to buy financial assets though. Which means we're going up! That's the vibe they are giving off at the moment, lets see what happens though
