Trading the stockmarket (NO Referrals)

Not in DES matey, been looking at getting into FOGL thought.

Looking at selling MTA at a loss but TDW will only give me 1.6 per share which is a little down on what i would like so will keep holding for a little longer.

Whoop. Thougth you had your fingers in the RRL pie too :)

FOGL look to be having an interesting time. I guess it's the right end of the scale to be investing into them!

No DES i was going to stick some money in a while back but didn't do enough reading so didn't bother, but i've got multiple fingers in the RRL pie :)

Deffo a good time to get into FOGL, but my hands are tied till tomorrow and i'm going to sort out my KEA problems first :)

I ditched DES at a 4% loss and gone into FOGL. Pretty much a like for like trade on the number of shares. Sorting out another slice of my savings for more RRL action.

Might not be the right thread but Im considering doing some trading (rather than investing since the long term is too far away :p) but am a complete novice apart from some share tracked ISAs (only just recovering :().

Any advice on what brokers to use or websites/newspapers to use for research? Looking over the last few pages it definitely seems that luck and research are key aswell as having a slightly 'glass half empty' viewpoint about things...

Are there websites where I can play with monopoly money (with relevant transaction fees and duties) to test my skills/research before I even bother to put my cold hard cash on the line? Not looking to put in that much - say £5k max - is that even worthwhile?

Again complete novice - sorry if Ive asked in the wrong thread (please point me in the right direction - didnt want to make a new one as I knew Id get idiots posting and it seems most people here are actively trading currently), just found it interesting when I glossed over the posts since the start of July...

TIA

I may do another "mad as a box of frogs style move", i'm thinking of selling my RRL at its current price to keep my gains then buy in at the new lower price, since i think this is going to keep falling over the next few days, no news due for a little while now.

I thought the same when it hit 7p but waited too long.

Seems to be holding at 6.335 at the moment, not sure what the current sell price is.

It could potentially be a disastrous movie but i'm set to gain around £600 at the moment and if the shares drop to 5.5 thats a good amount of extra shares for free.

Nice one, just sold my RRL and MTA, Fingers crossed for the both of us, lets hope we can get in at a low price point, 5.5p would be nice :p

Two weeks till the next batch of news so some say, but i've no idea if thats right, think i'm only going to stay out for 5 - 8 days, don't want to miss the next boat, might look at selling again towards the first sign of a drop, fingers crossed the SP does the same again.

Very tempted to stick this money into FOGL for a fews days but i'm not sure if its going to go up much without any news.

As I'm able to access a PC all day I've been thinking about day trading even if the gains are faily small until RRL look like they're going in the right direction.

I don't know much about FOGL and went in light with my old DES investment. Is your gut telling you something good is going to happen?

FOGL has seen a huge drop due to a bad RNS, i think it went from close to £2 to £1, its currently 7% up today, thing is they need another rig and i've got no idea how they can get one since its a deep water op iirc, now if they can get hold of a rig and news gets out the SP will shoot up, but as to when thats going to happen is anyones guess!

Other option is to plow it all into KEA!

Thanks for the update.

I'll stick with my £500 investment then as it'll be a nice bonus if it pays off and not too mcuh to cry about if things go south!
