In a world of Health and Safety does anyone else think it strange that the only thing protecting you from a high speed train is a yellow line painted on the platform?

Waiting at the platform edge is pointless in the UK it's better to wait near the front parking as the replacement busses only run on the roads not the tracks...

It’s not gonna leave until everyone’s on.
I don't think you've ever been on a truly busy, rush hour platform them Rob! 100% people get left behind who were there long before the train even arrived. Whilst I agree it's absolutely not worth risking your life for and standing on the edge of a platform, some people seem to think it is.
Bexleyheath is a fair old drop to the platform as well. Difficult for less able people. I’ve done my knee in getting off a train at Bexleyheath. Some of the gaps between platform and train are really quite wide here in SE London/Kent. Two that come to mind are Lewisham and Welling. Anyonw whos a bit wobbly/ uses crutches would have a hard time making it :/

Barriers thing seems overkill. How many people die by accidentally falling off train platforms anyway?
