Transformers:War for cybertron!

games for movies always seem to be rubbish, take the prince of persia film for instance, it was not that great.....

don't get your hopes up considering the last transformer game.

Ive been watching people playing it while streaming and it does look good...

although i am mighty suprised steam has not advertised it more? says released on PC today but no sign of it yet.

If u took the time to watch the videos, you would have seen the references to poor movie tie-in TF games (with 1 exception for ps2) and have known that this game is not a movie tie-in. It is creating new transformer lore which will be referenced in future TF material.

The designs are more like the War Within comics.

Had a search to see if there will be dedicated servers for pc, unfortunately there won't be, therefore I am not buying it, just going to get a hack fest and plus disconnections when the host leaves game etc. plus it's only 5 vs 5, so will be pretty boring, was hoping for a full on war like 16 vs 16.

And I also came across quite a few bugs and other stuff when having a read about the game for the pc, the config file has been encrypted, frames are locked to 30FPS and you can't change the controls of the mouse or keyboard buttons etc.

As usual pc gamers are shafted with another crap port from consoles to pc .

Heads up to people who are a fan of gears of war and unreal tournament. This is an absolute gem of a game. Online is not laggy and very addictive. 4/5 from me, not 5 because escalation mode only has 2 maps :(

having completed the single player portion of this game, i can honestly say its the best transformers game ever, the voice overs are fantastic, expecially soundwaves voice. the game plays like gears of war/call of duty where your in a small squad and have to complete objectives.

there is genuine reasons for transforming into vehicle mode, with megatron i find it takes a few hits of my blaster to kill enemies, but when i transform into the mobile weapons platform 1hit and its death to the bad guy (or is it good guy).

the size of some of those transformers is absolutly brilliant, good use of the unreal engine 3. you lot will be flapping from the likes of Omega Supreme, and will deffo crap yourselfs at Tripticon.

this game is deffo worth playing even if your not a fan of the cartoons.

all in all, give this game a try, its not really "kiddified" and seeing cybertron in its 3d glory is brilliant for the games atmosphere.

with the new transformers movie out i decided to boot up the best transformers game :D war of cybertron to finish on hard mode and came across this good news http://www.seibertron.com/transform...or-cybertron-multiplayer-5x-xp-forever/22117/ but this 5x xp is for all formats .
i have yet to finish escalation mode off and to get the prime mode trophy so this will certainly help i have it on the ps3 and i really hope they make a follow up next year .
these movie tie in games are rubbish and even the new one base on the latest has been rushed so to get my g1 fix i went back to cybertron .
Cannot believe how much the map packs cost for this i got shockwave free but would have liked to get jazz on his own :(

Decied to buy this with the steam sale, only played the 1st level and a bit of the 2nd, so far I've found it pretty decent and better then I expected, but it has 1 glarring fault.
You can't remap the keys, I can't remember the last time I came across a game that stopped you from doing this. There really is no excuse

Holy thread revival batman!!!

:p

If you are a fan of transformers then yes definitely! I loved the gameplay, but it was a bit repetitive really and limited fight moves and guns didn't help matters along with it being a terrible port, no options to choose from, limited to 30FPS, no key bindings and just very console looking regarding textures, jaggies etc.

But fun none the less and a great story I thought with good boss battles and a very well designed cybertron.
