Travel tips that you have picked up.

Carry two wallets, one low value wallet in the usual pockets people keep them. And a very well hidden wallet with anything important in.

If you get mugged they take the dummy wallet with some change, a few low value notes, photo of some random dog and some other bits of old receipts etc....

Reddit suggests there's no tipping culture in Morocco according to locals who live there.

so my tip would be, check reddit before you go somewhere and see what the locals are saying.

Ignore what you see American tourists doing.

FYI, the Americans were there on their first day, they don’t know what they are doing. I tip according to what the locals say not what Reddit suggests. You don’t tip by asking the counter to add 10% to the bill. Rather slip the waiter some cash. Like in the UK you don’t have to tip, and if you leave a couple of quid on the table, the waiter isn’t going to chase you to return it like Japan.

My top tip is to avoid Morroco. I've never been somewhere I wanted to leave so quickly, almost all due to being harrassed all the time.

They are an absolute nuisance…come to you even when sitting down in a cafe, selling tissues, or polish your shoes. Especially me…stands out like a sore thumb.

I went in December and I never had that problem. I cant remember a single person who came upto me.

Now, Thailand, Hong Kong and especially Turkey(worse of them all). I came close to loosing my temper with them. Not visiting those countries again.

My tips:
1. Have a decent travel plug, not the crappy cheap ones which will blow your hand off!
2. Photocopy your passport and save it in a secure folder such as OneDrive, etc.
3. Carry extra ID such driving license, photocopy that too. If your passport goes missing and they wont accept digital. At least you have another way to prove who you are.
4. Carry the bare minimum cash, dont take out more than you need. If you can pay with Google Pay or Apple Pay, do so and leave your cards in the safe.
5. Switch off roaming on your mobile before leaving. People are now getting caught out again since leaving the EU.

Take an extension lead with 4 or more plug sockets with you, works well if you want to use a laptop and have multiple devices needing charged, that way you only need one travel adapter. Comes in very handy if on a family holiday.

I was doing that for a few years but then saved on space and weight by getting one of these as only my laptop needed a plug socket and everything else like phones, tablet, camera battery chargers, fitbit etc were all USB. It has all the adapters built in so works whether I'm going to the States, South America, Far East or the E.U.

I have been thinking about getting some air tags. Other than knowing your luggage is close by, which it is almost 100% of the time, in the very rare chance it could be lost I'm not sure knowing where it had ended up would help or hinder my anger or anxiety!

They’re excellent for piece of mind, my bag didn’t make my connecting flight in Doha going to Birmingham (to be fair Qatar Airways sent me a notification I got immediately when I landed telling me it hadn’t made it so I didn’t waste time waiting for a bag that wasn’t going to come)

I fired up the find my app and saw the bag was still at Doha airport. Next morning checked it again and now the bag was in Birmingham :) (where it sat on the floor of baggage arrivals for 2 days before they delivered it too me but that’s another story!!).

Has anyone tried one of the neck support pillows that hold your head up while seated? Look like a medical brace. Any recommendations?

Not yet. Updated my "travel pack" for this year as have a few big flights to do and bought a Flyhugz as part of it. Saw it advertised on instagram but got one on Ebay for a 1/4 of the price.
