We were advised that the ones with all the gadgets, ifitness etc, you are paying for those features at the expense of frame quality and cushioning.
As cushioning and build quality was most important to us, they steered us away from all the ones more expensive and with 'run around london maps etc'.
i would say that is BS, you are paying more for the features but not at the expense of frame quality and cushioning.
sure if you have 2 treadmills by the same manufacturer at the same price and one has "ifitness" and the other doesn't then yeah the one without should be better.
but the more expensive treadmill you buy, the better it should be and the more features it should have built in as standard e.g. the more expensive ones have better motors and better frames and cushioning as well as ifitness, etc.

for example that has ifitness, do you really believe it isn't as good as yours, even though the motor is much more powerful and has many more features, like decline as well as incline, it's also faster, etc, etc.
maybe because you were on a "budget" they steered you towards the best one for your money, but to say it is better than all the rest because all the money was focused on the treadmill itself is wrong.
e.g. a £2000 treadmill may have had £200 spent towards the extra features, but that still means over £1500 was spent on the treadmill itself, which means it should be better than say a £900 treadmill with very little features.
